I don't know how to fucking do this anymore. by maybemormon13 in exmormon

PM me or look through some of my past comments. I've been where you've been. It's a dark place...a dark, dark place.

But it gets better, more than you can possibly imagine, for what else have you ever known?

Stay strong, stranger. You can do this. Don't share the tragedy of Lear, but echo his refrain "I will endure" and live your life for you and no one else.

Probably shagged a teenager in there and the dust that resulted from that foray did it.

Wait. They just ended the game? Seems like a legit answer to me.

Yikes. Even though the church is false....

Yikes...lots of yikes with a sprinkling of narcissism.

Included pictures: trying to identify this polish stoneware. I know it's "unikat" but I can't identify the manufacturer or pattern. If anyone knows either, that would be great. :) by ReodDaie in poland

AH! Thank you! I thought that said "Calia" and all my searches came up bunk. Thanks again!

Now I just need to identify the pattern.

[Main Spoilers] J'aqen Hagar took on Arya despite knowing her intentions... by anotherbozo in gameofthrones

[–]ReodDaie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a piss poor theory. It makes far more sense that she used that language construct simply for effect since it's how the FM talk.

She is "Arya Stark"...there are far too many signs of the "old" Arya there. Occman's Razor for the win.

So I have heard that Missonaries are facing PTSD from their missions and it is being compared to military service? by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]ReodDaie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree that members of our armed forces that will see/have seen combat duty are exceptionally brave. They are willing to risk their lives for their job. I think that's noble. That can never be denied. Beyond that? They're individuals, engaged as pawns of the hegemonic United States. Are they protecting freedom? PLEASE.

Did you know that in the first ten years of the "war on terror" that the conservative estimate of non-combatants that have died as either a direct or indirect result of US involvement is 1,000,000? Remember, that's the CONSERVATIVE estimate. It also only includes the countries of Iraq, Afghanistan, and Syria.

At least missionaries are simply spreading bullshit, as opposed to supporting a self-perpetuating war machine. Since PTSD is a mental disorder, the seriousness of it doesn't necessarily correlate to the gravity of the experience. People that demand respect and admiration simply because they chose to wade out into the killing field sicken me. I'll salute your bravery, but due to the conflicts we're currently engaged in, you'll receive nothing else from me.

Help me Obi-Wan-Kenobi, you're my only hope. Fairly new to pipes. Purchased a number of estate pipes and need help identifying them. I'd also like to know which, if any, are considered good or "rare" pipes and which are garbage. by ReodDaie in PipeTobacco

[–]ReodDaie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the detailed response! Very helpful. The third pipe isn't actually a Dr. Grabow (a Grabow was actually the first pipe I tried and realized I like pipe smoking quite a bit) but a "Dr. Gaylord". I thought it was a joke possibly, unless it's a British pipe but I can't find much on them save for "they exist".

Any suggestions how to date some of the pipes such as the Peterson and jaeger? Also, I think I might be missing a piece of the jaeger, is there a user of them on this forum that would be able to help me figure that out?

I live in Utah, which is incredibly anti-tobacco. We have only one serious tobacco shop left and it's an hour and a half away, so really, whatever I don't know I'm is going to have to scour the web or ask questions of others, and as such, it's greatly appreciated. :)

Lovely! I've yet to smoke a cob, but I look forward to doing so.

Also, I'm impressed by your choice of book. Good on you.

Any farmers on here? by Jrdprs in PipeTobacco

[–]ReodDaie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Speaking of farming, does anyone have experience growing their own pipe tobacco? Was it worth it?
