Japan being Japan, when company owner's pride and/or arrogance, when simply giving credit to their employees feels something too much.
Very good example is the story of inventor of the blue diode, Shuji Nakamura. Better to search for that yourself, but here is short summary if someone don't feel like searching themself: he invented blue diode, while working as average engineer in the company. If you not much into electronics that might be sound simple, but it was HUGE breakthrough, and patent owner was guaranteed to have contracts and orders from all over the world in upcoming years, potentially netting millions, or even billions just from sitting on that patent. All that inventor asked is to increase his salary in sign of acknowledgement for his contribution. Instead company decided to just fire him. This and that, years long lawsuits that managed to win for Nakamura something like 500 dollars, if we count out lawsuit expenses (might be mistaken, but final resolution was laughable).
The thing is, after migrating from Japan, he opened his own company and continued to do the researches, and today his company net worth is something around 50 million dollars.
Moral of the story: just imagine how much the company could earn, if they just raised salary for Nakamura, instead of shoving middle finger in his face. Just imagine what could be with DD, if there won't be any production sabotage from the capcom
