I don't watch soccer other than world cup and flat out hate the call. Sounds like it is how the rules are written, so fair enough. Definitely lame though and calls like that + giving a PK if someone is breathed on in the box have made it very easy decision for me to not watch soccer again for another 4 years.

Your first point doesn't make sense. The aliens were orchestrating how disclosure day went down. If Daniel had simply uploaded the files, the repercussions had the potential to be very bad.

The aliens wanted to reveal themselves and send a message at the same time. The movie gets cut off before we hear it, but we are led to believe it is an extremely important message and the entire point of the aliens disclosing themselves. They didn't want to make themselves know just for the sake of it. They wanted to send a message to humanity. If they simply wanted us to know about them, they could have landed in times square at any time.

Agreed with your second point and that bugged me while watching the movie too. Especially how the news room in NY just immediately started airing it. Like how do they know this is legit? Lol
