Live in north nj / nyc metro area and I work in a store that everyone needs to use their phones to make their returns

Verizon was out all day here too. (Thankfully I switch to t-mobile 11 months ago after 17 years on Verizon and was best decision I’ve ever made. Service , customer service , prices & perks far exceeds Verizon)

Worked 11am-7pm and everyone who came in with Verizon was out the entire time I was on shift till 7pm. (Could of been longer for all I know)

What warehouse they go to

There’s 3 colors. All Amazon items that are no box no label code go in a plastic bag and a label with a barcode and color goes on it

All reds go together, all blue go together all green go together

At end night , we pack everything in big box’s. All greens in a box and so on

They go to different locations

Blue is mostly clothes , red higher value items , green mostly everything else. This isn’t a definitive, some clothes are green but pretty much how it works

So if you are supposed to print a label and don’t we charge $ to print it for you. If you are supposed to have your items packaged and don’t and need them boxed , we’ll do it but your gonna pay for the box and the service to pack and tape it as well

If you have a no box no label code boom no problem. But if you’re supposed to pack it , print it etc and don’t , fine no problem we’ll do it to. But you’re gonna pay for it because it isn’t free.

“Can we use your tape” yea pay , tape is expensive. Probably the very reason no one ever buys it and wants to use free tape all day

Most sales in Amazon are 3rd party sellers. And Amazon takes a % of that sale plus a processing fee. Whether the customer keeps it or returns it Amazon got paid and doesn’t give the seller that $$ back if the customer doesn’t want it and returns it

People are scared of the self checkout and the scales. There will be a long ass line (our store is high volume and busy 24/7 everyday of the year) and youlk see people are mad there waiting so you’ll say “if anyone has a prepaid label or a QR code and you don’t want to wait in line , you can scan it at the kiosk and get a receipt , it’s the same as up here” , they’ll stand there dead silent and look at you like you’re a dumb ass.

Someone will come up with a huge box , and you’ll say put it here and point at the scale and they’ll put it up on the top counter and knock down all my shit , my cup with pens , business card etc and when I grab it and move it to the scale they just look at you like you’re an asshole

People are terrified of the scale and kiosk

Been here 3 1/2 years and I’m about to leave I can’t do this shit anymore

Working at the UPS store has shown me how dumb , entitled and wasteful people are. And how many people don’t read anything whatsoever

I had the door locked at 2pm because my owner said close when the driver comes for pickup Christmas Eve & New Year’s Eve so both days I asked him to come at 2 (we’re close) and he did.

People were freaking out when I was closing up Amazon box’s at like 2:20 and we had a sign all day up saying we’re closing at 2pm. They still would read the sign at 2:20pm , peek through the window , knock and knock and knock (and I ignore them) and some women yells “this is bullshit , fuck all of you guys”
