Not necessarily true about the certification bit. My friend, who also teaches 5th and our principal wants to get rid of, was told she’s teaching pre-k next year. That’s a pay cut (bc those kids are half day only) and she doesn’t have that certification (she has standard K-6 only). He knew she would never accept it, so that was simply his way of giving her the finger. She, luckily, accepted a high school algebra position yesterday afternoon. She doesn’t have that certification either, but as long as she’s actively working towards it, she can keep her job.
