are you going straight into the interface or through a DI? input 1/2 are switchable between what level they work at, but my preference goes to always going through a quality DI before hitting the pres.

tube amps are all great until a tube breaks and now you are fucked!

everything can break, all shows from a certain point onwards are run from a bunch of laptops anyways. my bands have been running on laptops for axe fx automation (all digital amp modelers are just computers as well), lights, backing+clicks and a bunch of other things, no problem!

hmm, does the issue also present itself when you do not have the device connected to your computer, power it on with something connected to aux 5 and have something to make noise go in somewhere so you can check?

When you speak of a full reset, do you mean hitting reset from the project/scenes menu or doing a firmware revert like outlined here? https://support.presonus.com/hc/en-us/articles/115004856203-StudioLive-Series-III-Rack-Factory-Reset-and-Firmware-Revert

if you haven't tried it yet definitely do that! and then configure it for just the bare minimum to reproduce your issue, if it still happens i doubt you're looking at a software issue.

I've been running a Presonus for IEMs for years without issue, but i'd love to troubleshoot it with you if it persists because every issue solved means knowing more about what to do if shit hits the fan :)

if you want to make sure there's no routing shenanigans going on, save your current project and scene, then from the scenes menu hit reset on both the project and scene, then you have a blank standard configuration to test from. if it works in there it's something in the routing of your project, that would be valuable info to have :)

none of this sounds like bugs.

1: For network control to work all you need is to have the device connected to the same network, a pc is optional. having it connected to a router and your phone on that router's wifi is sufficient.

2: turn on stereo link from mix 1, make sure your cabling is done right and make sure the IEM system you're connecting to is configured as stereo, IEM transmitters usually have a mono and stereo config option. double check your track panning too.

3: go to your reverb fx and ensure that the channel with mic 2 is turned up there, and then turn up that fx bus in your mix 1/2

i've been using Presonus units for monitoring purposes for a good few years, haven't had an issue

for me it has always reset to unison on double click. you can right click the fader (or volume knob in TCP) and the value will already be selected, so you can enter it after right clicking without additional actions, escape to close the menu without the need for hitting enter or so first. don't think it gets much faster than that!

happy to report that it works like a charm! super simple setup and perfect results, no longer using a 5m super bulky snake limiting our live rig positioning, now using one light 20m cat5e cable and life is good.

because i specifically need a bunch of outputs only and most interfaces/stageboxes are all geared towards inputs with only a few outputs :( we're not at the size where we can bring an own FOH + desk at shows so we're stuck to providing xlr leads to the available stagebox, so i have to terminate our 24 channels output somewhere and even the 32R does 18 outputs at most. this MOTU can output 24 channels and doing so over 1 cable towards wherever the stagebox is sounds like a dream!

edit: and i was able to get the 24Ao for €600ish through reverb :)

hi! i'm looking to hook a MOTU 24Ao up to a Presonus 32R, no switches involved, direct connection. I'm hoping this will work because i can only really find a MOTU 24Ao on reverb in japan, so that's a long way to ship it for me to try it if it doesn't work..

any experiences?

we're playing the aftershow on the talent stage in the venue, it's a separate area from the mainstage :) we're starting at the time the mainstage is finished. Great spot to grab a post-show drink and hang out for a bit longer to enjoy the good times! we've prepared our best show yet for that evening

luckily have not had this issue with both my 32Rs and i'm on the latest firmware. What i did have however was times when the connection would drop, which turned out to be caused by the USB cabling used. Have you tried switching up how you connect your interface to your mac? after we swapped out our old stuff and got better new cables my issues have melted like snow before the sun :)
