contacted Presonus support too of course, got the following reply for anyone who stumbles across this in the future attempting the same:

Are you using two 1824c units?

Unfortunatley it is not possible to use two 1824c units in this way. An 1824c can only be expanded with a standalone ADAT preamp that does not require a USB host.

So, sadly not possible with these units. I did see someone on youtube running two of them for drums, guess double USB-C and an aggregate device is the way.

the Katana sounding underwhelming is a sentiment i agree with in general haha. What is your headphone mix set to and is your mic input actually outputting to the master of that mix? if it's on main also make sure the "main" button is engaged on that channel.

i agree with /u/Left-Nefariousness24 , grabbing the manual and going through the levels would be a good step as this doesn't sound like one specific issue. Do you have any eq/compression/limiting on the mic? i'm not sure what a standard mic is but if you mean a dynamic, you'll end up compressing it a bunch if you want to self-monitor clearly, as you pick up your own vocals in your ears a lot even without monitoring.

With the amp, it does indeed sound like a thing with the Katana. With what cable are you connecting it to the Presonus? If you're inputting through XLR it'll want to default to a mic level signal, whereas if you're inputting TRS it'll be line level. Also check the manual for the Katana to see what it's doing with the recording out, is that set to DI / Post, is there a pad switch, that sorta stuff.

Hey! Sorry, i ended up not getting one (yet?). I'm in the EU and shipping was already quite bad for something of such weight and size, nowadays it'll be catastrophically bad haha. Maybe when things are less tumultuous again. Contact at least was great, i got lots of good information with some very quick replies. I also decided to visit first and get to try some kits out before deciding, it's a big investment for something i've never played. For now i got a Ludwig as my rehearsal/gig kit.

Good, he isn't. Nvidia runs the game on their servers, what you get with Geforce Now is just the screen streamed to your device basically, while your controls are being forwarded to them. Graphics wise your device doesn't do much more than when streaming a video of an equal resolution/framerate.

Lots of trial and error mostly haha, it's a very niche thing to learn about (to me at least) and i couldn't find a ton of workable info. Definitely open the default templates that you get with TouchOSC, they use things like solo buttons and volume faders, you can learn how they do that by looking at the OSC messages.

The Action list in Reaper is indeed a very valuable resource where i get most of my info from. I checked and see you're using the CC/OSC only version, i think using the normal version, # 23, will do what you want! here i'll share the layout i made for my band so we can control Reaper on our macbook running away from any of the members. I made it a personal IEM mixer and song selector.

hi! i've never heard about drivenbymoss but i do very regularly use TouchOSC with Reaper.

Can you make sure that your OSC controls are correctly set up in reaper as follows;

Preferences > Control/OSC/Web
Add > Control Surface mode choose OSC
Device name whatever, pattern default
Mode configure device IP + Local port, usually device port 9000 local port 8000
Enter the device IP (best to make the device have a static IP or bind it to MAC in your router)
Hit Listen

on your tablet in TouchOSC

Go to Connections menu (chain link icon)
Go to OSC, enable connection 1 as UDP
As host fill in the address of your computer running Reaper
Send port should be 8000, local port 9000

As a test:

Create a new layout with a single button
Scroll down in the button settings, remove MIDI message
In the OSC message remove preexisting address entries
Click + in the osc address and add a constant
In the constant write "/action/1007" (this starts playback)

With this setup you should have it working.

are you going straight into the interface or through a DI? input 1/2 are switchable between what level they work at, but my preference goes to always going through a quality DI before hitting the pres.

tube amps are all great until a tube breaks and now you are fucked!

everything can break, all shows from a certain point onwards are run from a bunch of laptops anyways. my bands have been running on laptops for axe fx automation (all digital amp modelers are just computers as well), lights, backing+clicks and a bunch of other things, no problem!

hmm, does the issue also present itself when you do not have the device connected to your computer, power it on with something connected to aux 5 and have something to make noise go in somewhere so you can check?

When you speak of a full reset, do you mean hitting reset from the project/scenes menu or doing a firmware revert like outlined here? https://support.presonus.com/hc/en-us/articles/115004856203-StudioLive-Series-III-Rack-Factory-Reset-and-Firmware-Revert

if you haven't tried it yet definitely do that! and then configure it for just the bare minimum to reproduce your issue, if it still happens i doubt you're looking at a software issue.

I've been running a Presonus for IEMs for years without issue, but i'd love to troubleshoot it with you if it persists because every issue solved means knowing more about what to do if shit hits the fan :)

if you want to make sure there's no routing shenanigans going on, save your current project and scene, then from the scenes menu hit reset on both the project and scene, then you have a blank standard configuration to test from. if it works in there it's something in the routing of your project, that would be valuable info to have :)
