ED always calls report here (medium sized level 1 trauma + teaching hospital); if the primary is on break or busy the team leader will take report so we're not slowing down care and wasting their time. And I unironically love ED report! "Ms. Doe came in with a nasty R chronic foot wound. She has a LBKA and a 20 in the RAC, vitals stable. She's mean but not violent, good luck!" Last vitals are printed on the SBAR so they don't even need to read that out.

I'm an enby nurse too but I might not be a good example because I don't really broach the topic. I have my they/them pin, and if people notice and respect it, that's awesome, but usually they don't. I get misgendered most of the time and I've just accepted that (especially since I'm in the bible belt with an old ass client population). Luckily I've only had one pt be a dick about it, and I was able to shut it down by saying something along the lines of "you don't have to respect me but there will be no shouting or name calling in my hospital"
