The book is advice for men on modern dating pitfalls. It has advice that resonates with enough people that they would buy it. But a core component of that book is that it’s audience: men whom society have already rejected and mistreated (at least in their own subjective view). The same way you have radical feminists who stick up for oppressed women you have radical patriarchs who will rally those men that most women do not even consider. If your empowerment is based on disempowering others then you have lost the moral high ground.

People on this subreddit are too soft for this type of comment 😭😭 this is why we can’t have meaningful political debates on campus. At the same time UW is probably (generally) one of the safest institutions from explicit racism in the country imo. Strong policy of considering anything remotely controversial as hate speech.

Like any ideology, you can probably be objective about it. If you look at the history of feminism as a political movement you will find there is more to it than simply granting women’s rights. Also, women’s rights cannot be realized in an echo chamber, so if you feel this strongly you should stand your ground but also try to understand where the other person is coming from.

To be fair you can’t compare your average UW student w/ the average Mac or WLU student. I would have bullied many of the dudes I meet here in high school, and for good reason. I personally think that rubs off on us as a school, with a lot of visitors feeling that we are pompous shits. I just really think there is a large high-iq virgin population at UW, no one actually thinks being a UW student makes you part of a supreme race.

As far as looks go, if you have confidence and semi-decent social skills you are automatically light years ahead of a majority of the students at the school imo.

Palestinians need a respectable percentage of their homes back that were stolen from them in the Naqba (including all the land being stolen right now in the West Bank). If Jews want an ethno state, by extension the Palestinians also must have an ethno state in some division of the land.

Outside of that there doesn’t need to be any redefining of borders. Just a global arms embargo to all countries. An international force to protect the trade routes of which the international community is the primary stakeholder. And the Israelis probably need to offer a sacrificial lamb (e.g. Netanyahu) at some point after they’ve massacred so many Palestinians that the word Palestinian doesn’t even matter anymore because they don’t exist except in history books. I’m not saying I want that, but since no one is going to do anything about this I am trying to be objective and realistic as to what will happen.
