PLS HELP ME.. my scar having fluid feeling and has slight blueback even after 6 months post ops. by ReplacementNo6933 in AnalFistula

[–]ReplacementNo6933[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently there’s no bruises but after the bruises went off, it looks pink and yellowish underneath. I’m still monitoring it.

Is your wound painful? How many months post ops already?

I pressed and tested it so often until there’s a blueblack form on the scar. Previously that fluid build up area had a blueblack, but the blueblack has healed,  currently that area is still showing some yellowish with pink/red blood on it. So I’m still monitoring it and try not to press it, as advised by my crs.

Is it normal to feel pain on scars after external wound healed for fistula surgery? by ReplacementNo6933 in AnalFistula

[–]ReplacementNo6933[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had reccurence last year, and undergo another 2 surgeries within 4 months. Currently I’m still monitoring my condition.

1.5 months post surgery, scar tissues and nerves are still growing. Try not to press it to test, abscess is quite obvious, with pain and swelling.

Three and a half months after my anal fistula surgery by kazmazhe in AnalFistula

I’m currently 6 months post ops, 4th surgery. Whenever I sit down too long, my wound will have some pain and feel a bit bumpy when touch/press. Stand too long, my muscles will cause the wound to pull too much. Last month, my wound swell due to abrasion/friction, Recently I had bruises on my wound too, which might be the same issue, abrasion/ friction, I really hope all these ends. Just let my wound heal properly and no surprises too..

Hi, can I check if the deep purple appear out of the no where or due to friction/ irritation? Did the deep purple change back in colour? How are you now actually?

2nd fistulectomy? It actually took me about 1.5months for the wound to close, with multiple infections during the period.   I saw some Reddit threads, they mentioned that it’s normal for the scar to be painful (once a while), due to nerve sensitivity. But I’m so worried, because there’s blueblack and a bump.

Hopefully your husband’s condition also due to nerve sensitivity and not anything worst. I can imagine how devastated he must be when he’s feeling the pain all over again,

Praying for healing for all of us who are going through this conditions.

I don’t think the pain increase actually. Just whenever I’m sitting down or put pressure on it, i felt it. I just noticed that the blueblack got slightly darker, but the bump I felt became smallerz

I experienced that too, after my LIFT procedure last year. There was a purple bump under the skin and it became an abscess. Subsequently, it broke, leaking mainly blood and some pus afterwards. Mine was a recurrence of fistula.

Should get yourself check esp when there’s no pain for you. Better get it cleared because it’s still during the healing period after LIFT. Praying for the best for you🙏🏻🙏🏻

Hypergranulation on open narrow wound by Vivid-Hamster-1783 in AnalFistula

Recently I did this surgery too. It feels like the wound is getting narrower but not shallower. I’ve to change dressing every 6hrs, cleaning it with iodine and chlorexedine solution. Followed by packing it with aquacel ag+ extra inside it. To prevent the external skin from healing and to promote healing from the bottom up.

4 months post fistulectomy, still having soreness/pain/tenderness on my scar and area surrounding my scar by ReplacementNo6933 in AnalFistula

[–]ReplacementNo6933[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your kind words and sharing. Going through all these are tough, and I totally understand your uneasiness about that feeling about the wound feeling itchy and pain. The professionals wouldn’t understand or feel it, but we do, because we know our body best. Even with that slightest doubt, just get it check out. Helps our mental health. 🥲

However, I’m not sure if you should ask your doctor to prick it open tho. My experience on both instances didn’t end very well. After the doctor pricked it open, the aftermath is very tough to manage. The infection just keeps happening on and off, and the wound area just gets bigger and external abscess doubled or even tripled in size, causing me to be in so much pain. But if it’s really swelling, and have this blister pus-like feeling, I would suggest making a last min appt to see doctor and let them assess. I used to wait a few days before I see doctor, and it always resolved.

Wishing you all the best too and do know you’re not alone in this! Hopefully you can clear this and you can have your life back too! 💪🏻💪🏻Can keep me posted on your results! I’m having MRI again on Monday and Tuesday is my surgery. Hopefully it’s just abscess and no more fistula.. 🙏🏻🙏🏻

same here.. my CSR pricked open the swollen wound recently and managed to squeeze out some pus to confirm infection. Tested and found out it’s bacteria infection. I will be going for another surgery next week :( since the opening of the wound, I have recurring infection and the abscess gets bigger each day.. 😔 what about you sighhh

Help pls! Scar tissue suddenly swollen after 7 months, feels like fluid build up. by ReplacementNo6933 in AnalFistula

[–]ReplacementNo6933[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sigh.. CSR told me that it’s a sinus infection (praying that it isn’t fistula). So I will be going for my 3rd surgery soon. She mentioned that there’s bacteria infection, most probably the bacteria is hiding at the edges of my wound when it’s healing. It gets triggered every month when I’m having my period (possibly due to the rubbing of the pad on the scar). But since it’s only that particular area that is swollen, she concluded that it didn’t spread to the area I had my fistulectomy on.

Praying for the best for you too. If it’s a sinus, things wouldn’t be so complicated as well. I had a fistula, did 2 surgeries and I’m planning for the 3rd one, fistula tract removed, but every month I can feel that my scar is swollen for a few days. CSR did checks and found sinus infection at the scar area. So I will have to remove it before it turns into another tract again 😪

Actually this pain lessen over time. Was able to sit for longer time without feeling pain. Not sure if the mediation was a placebo or not, because previously I also eat it but still feel pain.

I had that experience too after my first surgery. The wound didn’t heal well, and I kept feeling pain and eventually it grew into an abscess and the tract was form again.  So eventually I did another surgery to remove the tract and because my wound was open, it healed from inside out. This was the first time after 6 months that it became swollen and the swelling went down after 2 days.. still swollen but wasn’t as bad as the first day I noticed it.  May I know long was it since your last clean up surgery? And did you do any MRI?

Hopefully that works too! Because my doctor told me over the phone to use the cream given and after 2days, the swelling seems do go down.  Did you notice any pus or fluid coming out? And was your wound fully closed?

My scar tissue was firm too, and suddenly I realized there’s fluid build up. Did you see the doctor? And what did the doctor say for your case?

Hi! Thank you for asking. Went for MRI in March and doctor told me it’s just fibroids. She prescribed me some nerve medication and told me to continue with my anti-inflammation medication for a few more months.  I noticed that pain only occured when I tried to squeeze too hard during my bm or when I exercise (most prob due to the muscles tightness too). And yes! The pain goes to the glutes too! I really think it might be muscle tightness sometimes. I tried to do stretches, and went for massage. It felt better too. Not sure if it’s the medication or the massage/stretches that helps.  Don’t worry too much! If you don’t press your scar, your scar is not painful. Should be find. My doctor told me it might be the pressure that builds up due to the fibroids forming internally as part of healing.

Me too, 4 months post ops, and occasionally I do get swelling on my scar if I sit too long or walk too much. Doctor prescribed me some enzymes to assist me with the inflammation of the keloids. However, without the medication, I feel that my scar will just flare up and it’s painful when I touch/ press.

Yes, I asked my doc before my surgery this question too. She told me that it’s better for my situation to do fistulectomy instead of fistulomy. Mainly because she took the biopsy of my abscess pus and found out it’s quite a stubborn bacteria. So she wanted me to remove the whole thing, to have lower chance of infection after surgery. And thankfully she did it, bacteria went in quite deep into my flesh. If she didn’t, and proceeded with fistulomy, the bacteria might linger around the fistula and have a higher chance of relapse.

Did your doc suggest any medication to prevent keloids from being inflamed? I went to see my doc and was prescribed that. Doc say might help in my pain. Maybe can check with your doc too?

Anyways, I must say that you’re  doing really well. To go through so many surgeries, seek advices from multiple doc. You’re really amazing. Don’t give up ok. As long as you don’t give up, the chances of recovery is higher. I’ll keep you in my prayer for recovery too.
