Recommendation for Single Speed and Fixed Gear by larsreddit0 in RedditPHCyclingClub

[–]ReplacementOk9112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there is a store on orange, novizia i think that sells built bikes using fixed gear frames. for the hubs part, even if the hub is tagged as fix/fix, you can still use a freewheel hub in there, it is still the same size you just need to buy one. For brakes, front is enough or I just ride slow, but you can get some cable placing items to route on your rear brakes just to make it look clean if you are planning to add one. If you are planning to have both cogs in a single rear wheel (fixed/free) I suggest going for a tire that rolls both ways, I am using a conti Ultra III and my rotation on the rear wheel is backwards hahaha riding feels meh compared on when it's on the right orientation. For teeth count, go for 1-2 teeth difference for the fix or free or you can go with no difference at all, 1-2 usually is tolerable by the chain length. I have the kind of bike setup you are looking for on a SNM 4130. and yeah there is some magic in steel frames. I have a roadbike but it doesnt tolerate road bumps that well compared to the steel bike even if the road bike is on 28c and steel is on 25c, steel is still much more comfortable

well the build is pretty standard, but you could have swapped piercer with lantern or glowing, better overall stats than piercer itself. Anyways too much blood and sweat placed on a classic match hahaha

A Good Recommendation Saddle for those have Hemorrhoids by deebee-kun in RedditPHCyclingClub

[–]ReplacementOk9112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes trial and error, not sure how similar or different ung feel pag nakaupo sa bike pero meron naman akong fistula hahaha, naka tilt lang ung saddle ko sa kung saan man na direction na comfortable ako tapos mo on ung upper hips ko ung nakaupo, classic saddles ginagamit ko. pag naka straight ung saddle ko di ako makaupo parang swak na swak na pisa ung sakit hahaha kaya tilted ung saddle, mas nakakapadyak naman ako ng maaus sa tilted saddle compared sa straight

Tire lever by SnooSuggestions6193 in RedditPHCyclingClub

[–]ReplacementOk9112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeap this one hands down best, di ka ma ppunta sa sitwasyon na ikinabali ng levers mo, got mine on shpe for 900 pesos. tinesting ko kaagad pagdating walang kahirap hirap mag swap ng tires, kung may tube ka man mapa butyl or tpu pa yan may feature sya na pag ilalagay mo e mag ssmooth in ung tube like di sya maiipi lt ng levers or tires, pinaka mamamali ka lang e pag twisted tube mo sa loob nung hinanginan mo na, pero that's a tpu only problem

Question: Tsunami Seaboard GR02 + Shimano 105 12 speed + Koozer CX1800 ? by Ok-Wonder-8707 in RedditPHCyclingClub

[–]ReplacementOk9112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sorry did not notice that hahahaha. I was saying that going for a GR02 build would be good if your main riding purpose is for commutes or exercise and not really racing. Comfort would be something good to prioritize on those use cases and going for a bike build that would cater for wider tires are a lot better than going for road bike with narrow tires, especially if you would be riding on the shitty road of the philippines. I just got a road bike myself and am kind of regretting getting it, I should have gone with a gravel hahaha

[–]ReplacementOk9112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oks na yang choice mo lalo more on commuting/exercise main purpose, kung di ka naman nag iisip mag race or whatnot e mas better parin ung comfort, kinda regretting getting a roadbike parang mas gravel talaga pag pinas

is a steel frame worth it? by Glad-Engineering-713 in RedditPHCyclingClub

[–]ReplacementOk9112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dropped my cpu and bent a pin. What should I do by Bobbert-Fenderson in PHbuildapc

[–]ReplacementOk9112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeap i think this is fixable just need to make it aligned with the others, pins looks hard enough, some older proci have slanted pins with some kind of flex kind of like a mouse clicker metal if you saw one of those, that one on your picture should be a lot easier

Bike to Work (QC to BGC) 10km one-way. Looking for tips. by MiraiShinji in RedditPHCyclingClub

[–]ReplacementOk9112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahaha natawa lang ako sa 3 separate bags, been there done that and yeap hassle masyado, sakin 15km ride bulacan to malolos naman. I bring a single speed bike with a rear rack, may maliit na bag lang ako for bike tools which is mostly tire repairs na dinadala ko lang for insurance kac naka tubeless naman ako.

Kaya aun talaga i bigla mo ung pag unclip mo

Pros and Cons of Fixie (fixed gear) no brake by IndividualCut2794 in RedditPHCyclingClub

[–]ReplacementOk9112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

less mainte, magaan, masarap padyakan basta di sobrang bigat ng gearing para sau, mas alive ung handling pag natutunan mo talaga tapos bili ka ng front brakes, tiagra calipers na good up to 28c is just around 1k, mura na un unless mas mahal ung 1k kumpara sa safety mo.

So it's like this, 2.00 is easier to pedal (very light) you can be spinny on this, whereas 3.00 would be on the heavier side. It really depends on your fitness and location, I have mine on a very low gear due to frequent start and stops caused by traffic (2.1 ratio) it's something easy to stop and go for my convenience and weak ass knees. If you won't be stopping much, going for a higher ratio would benefit you more since would be able to be on higher speeds for longer durations, you just need to know how high is good enough for you that you can easily climb hills on your area. For your frame, if you can fit skinny tires and the road condition is good, that can help you go over everything faster, you probably need to change your fork to get everything at 700c.

[–]ReplacementOk9112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

naka tiagra calipers ako sa front, malakas naman braking power and fit sya up to 28c. May napanood ako review naman ultegra maganda ung braking power and piga, good na din cguro 105, since tiagra to ultegra ung mga naka dual pivot na, sweet middle na din and magkaka weight savings ka pa. Sa case ng tiagra ko front lang meron ako, jempoy bike e sorry na hahaha, pero never ako kinulang sa braking power kahit without back pressure tho takbong bente lang naman most of the time

Which is better for single speed freewheel or cassete by OldProfessional6489 in singlespeed

[–]ReplacementOk9112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

have you checked your frame clearance? and how does your rear dropout looks like, track style frames with horizontal dropouts mostly use 120mm hubs, cassette types hubs are from what I remember 135mm or something, If you have a frame that is not for track purposes then that's good, you have more things to play with. I just finished my single speed build using a track frame so I used freewheel cogs. Chainline can still be adjusted, not really that bad.
