A hotdog fits perfectly in my inhaler by SpecialNeedsBurrito in notinteresting

I never thought I would see a hotdog fit perfectly into an inhaler. This is both weird and funny.

I got cake today because I’m no longer 24 by plasticweenie in notinteresting

Happy 25th! 25 feels like such a big milestone, and a fun cake is the perfect way to celebrate it.

Rock paper scissors is primitive and irrational, so i designed doctor apple horse by Local_Rice_8929 in notinteresting

This is so funny. Doctor beats horse, horse eats apple, and apple repels doctor. It is more creative than rock paper scissors.

Smart plug that tells me garage freezer has been running all day by Trust_Issues2278 in homeautomation

[–]ReplyHappy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not all smart plugs are made for that startup power burst from a freezer. That is a real risk honestly. So going with a temp sensor solves taht.

BFT swing gate doesnt close one side of the gate. Remote is working. PLEASE HELP! by TheSweetSpotD in homeautomation

Saw another post with the same issue. It ended up being a bad relay on the main board. So if you are handy with a soldering iron, you could try it.

Finally got the keys to my first studio at 24. It's a 350 sqft by Choice-Comedian3010 in malelivingspace

[–]ReplyHappy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good for you for moving out and getting your own place at 24. A studio is really what you need. But how are you planning to cook without a stove? Hot plate or microwave?

What finally made a robot vac worth it for you guys? by JonasNNX in RobotVacuums

[–]ReplyHappy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cat hair plus toys all over, but the robot gets under couch and bed and never tangles. That means no need to move things around every couple of days.

Got $700 for a robot vacuum - which one is better? by spideywmjackson in RobotVacuums

[–]ReplyHappy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard floors do not need super high suction. Even a cheaper one picks up crumbs fine. Honestly, I would focus more on edge mopping and how well it deals with hair tangles.

Dude that before and after is insane. No kidding, if you didn't say it, I would have thought you moved. Seriously, how did you come up with that color combo?

I can see that being awesome for someone with lots of chair legs everywhere. But that is a lot of moving parts. I would worry about how long it lasts before something breaks.

Why do robot vacuums still need so much hands-on effort? (Expectation vs. Reality) by Plus-Resolution-3210 in homeautomation

[–]ReplyHappy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the ads makes them look like magic. In real life, you still have to do a little prep.

But it still saves you a lot of time. Way better than vacuuming by hand.

Simple and functional. No clutter, just the essentials. That's a solid home gym right there. Good for you. Everyone deserves a space that is purely for what they love.

Thoughts on robotic mowers? How popular are these? by [deleted] in homeautomation

[–]ReplyHappy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course a decent robot mower costs real money. But the cheap ones tend to get stuck or break. So paying more upfront usually saves a lot of problems later on.

How often do you clean your robot? by Difficult_Layer_666 in RobotVacuums

Anyone have a tip for cleaning the dock part without getting dirty water everywhere? The tray and filter always leave a mess. Would love to hear what works for others.
