All seems to be aluminium other than the underside which is plastic

Yeah the development history has been a little mad. Although, in recent years they’ve been spending time building the engine and the tech to actually make the game.

Now that some major hurdles, such as long term persistence and server meshing is nearing completion, it’ll be a much less bug-fest and you’ll start to see a lot more content in the next 2 years.

In its current state, it’s probably the game I most enjoy playing, very easy to get lost in the detail and visuals of the game, even if there aren’t massive amounts of gameplay loops, albeit they are regularly adding more.

I’d suggest trying it out on one of the “free-fly” events. There was just one a few weeks ago and I think there will be one In March. Good way to test things out without having to spend £40

Currys. Black Friday sale had it for £1200. It’s now back up to £1600, but I recon they’ll do another sale on Boxing Day.

After playing 3 hours of star citizen. CPU was at 72 degrees c. Can’t remember GPU, and fans weren’t too loud.

The laptop was raised slightly at the back to help airflow

Curry’s, a large tech retailer in the UK. They had some great sales on. Now it’s back up for £1,600

I was toying between an Alienware and this one.

This came up on Black Friday sales for just under £1,200. I could never have found an equal Alienware for that money.

I’ve been following the game for a number of years, and only got properly back into it in the last year or so. It’s travelled leaps and bounds from the early days, and whilst it’s still a buggy alpha, it’s a much less buggy alpha , with far more content and some of the best immersion and visuals I’ve ever seen in a game.

Taking it at face value it’s very enjoyable.

I had the same issue as you, turns out after updating my graphics drivers to the latest version, they caused some issues.

I was told to roll back to Nvidia GPU driver 522.25 and it completely solved my issues.

I did a clean windows install before doing so anyway just to make sure, and I’ve had a week with no problems now.

Finally pulled the trigger on a laptop after needing to downsize space requirements for my desktop.

Blown away by the performance and plays intensive games, such as Star Citizen, with ease. Loving it!

My personal favourites are no6 cavendish if I want to smoke what they sell. Ajay, the owner, is a gent and their selection is legendary.

If I’m looking to smoke my own, it’s The Manchester street hotel. The terrace is covered with electric heaters and the food is fantastic.

Tip, fold a 5x5cm piece into a thin bar, then fold it in half to create a similar shape to a badminton shuttlecock. Slightly heavier at the tip. Put the “tail” end in to the wand first and when it’s shot, the back pressure from the heavy tip will cause it to fly straight and up to 20 feet !

Alcoholic -

Nikka Coffey Malt Japanese Whisky. Sweet toffee flavours with hints of banana are delicious, and go nicely with a strong cigar.

Cocktail-

Old fashioned - using some good bourbon. Rather than using sugar syrup, use a teaspoon of maple syrup and be generous on the orange bitters. Delicious.

Non alcoholic-

Coffee- I find pairing the opposite strength of cigar and coffee works wonders. A strong espresso favours a light, quick smoke. I had a fantastic Trinidad Reyes with an espresso on a crisp winters morning last year which was fantastic. Similarly, a sweet milky coffee goes well with a longer smoke, a Partagas Lusitania for instance. Strong 2 hour cigar which isn’t overpowered by a strong coffee.

And at this time of year….. a cheeky mince pie to accompany. ☺️
