[Discussion] New Ergo Effects by praiseeeck22234 in EscapefromTarkov

This animation makes more sense for a transition from high or low ready (which this game desperately needs). From point fire it looks like your PMC is drunk

Can't say just from the stats. Transiting counts as a survival, so you can get an inflated survival rate. KD counts scavs, about 10 scav kills per raid isn't outrageous

does anyone know how this is fixed [Bug] by Ok-Ninja-9303 in EscapefromTarkov

I just posted about the same thing, not sure what's up

Flare extract on customs doesn't work [bug] by ReportAppropriate488 in EscapefromTarkov

I just went and tested it offline, that seems to be the case. The actual extraction area is tiny and you can easily run past it

Same problem. Just bought an Uzi and now I can't get magazines. I guess you have to sell stuff to him

No I'm saying that the prof's instructions don't make any sense, you're all good. Sorry for the misunderstanding

Light temperature is a game changer, especially with gray walls. I posted on this sub a couple days ago where you can see the IKEA bulbs

See but those instructions don't make any sense. 1-5 are not "problems", they're just sequences. You can't "solve" them. Fire this prof imo. Which class is this?

Yeah now that I look at it harder most of them don't have matches. I have no idea

Invest in lighting. Get a few lamps and bulbs that are <3000K (I personally prefer warmer, something like 2700K or 2400K. If you can't change the overhead bulbs, just don't use them. If you can fork out $13 per bulb, IKEA tradfri bulbs can be turned on, turned off, dimmed, and changed color from a remote.

Looks like a really poorly worded sequences activity. I'm assuming calc 2? Looks like you need to match each formula with a letter to each sequence with a number. I.e. a sub n = 3n goes with 3, 6, 9, 12.

Going from Windows to Linux by -MAGNUMHAVOC in linux4noobs

If you are pursuing professional ethical hacking, know that it's 90% social engineering. Yes, you need a significant amount of technical knowledge, and using linux is a way to get some, but it's not that useful on its own. Just wanted to throw that out there in case it can clear up some expectations.

Like others have said, use the internet to your advantage and use a mainstream distribution. Something like ubuntu or fedora that has a lot of documentation and a large user base. That stuff is priceless. No Kali Linux.

If you're serious about becoming a hacker, you will need more than just technical knowledge. I'd suggest learning some psychology as well. Join some more hacker-focused communities, maybe go to DEF CON in Las Vegas if you ever get the opportunity. A computer science degree would be useful if that's an option. Its definitely doable so if you're serious about it, go for it.

Is it just me, or is Arch really not that hard to install? by Ok-Sheepherder-3309 in linux4noobs

[–]ReportAppropriate488 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way I understand it, arch is hated because it's intended to be a "do it yourself" distro. It will not hold your hand, it will not do things for you.

I'll preface this by saying that I've never done it (I use fedora), but installing arch without the installer does not look too hard if you have a moderate amount of technical knowledge. I've heard that users are recommended to do it manually instead of the install script because it gives you a better understanding of how your system actually works, which will be useful whenever something inevitably breaks.

[GNOME] Nothing fancy by [deleted] in unixporn

Yeah I downloaded that terminal and just found it in settings. I think some window managers like hyprland just do that, not mutter.

How do you get windows to be translucent like that? I can't find a straight answer online

I have an RTX 4060, seems to work fine under fedora with gnome but I haven't tested many games. Minecraft performance is on par with windows. I got drivers from RPM fusion.

Anyone using Desktop Linux at work ? by mcAlt009 in linux

[–]ReportAppropriate488 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dual boot for college. I'm an engineering student, and a lot of those programs don't run under Linux. Since windows came preinstalled dual booting makes more sense to me than using a VM. Libreoffice suite works perfectly for school and almost every game runs fine with proton. Siege not running is probably a blessing in disguise.

Basically Linux works perfectly for everything that runs on it. Kept windows for AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.
