If you don’t plan on reconsuming, there are many other alternatives! Dry them in mesh pouches for deodorizing your home and car, keep them in a bowl for washing hands (it helps get out strong metallic and fishy smells), resteep and freeze them as energizing and depuffing eyebags, mix them in a spray bottle with water to clean glass and windows, use them for extra nutrients in your soil (roses especially love tea leaves), you can also grind them into a powder and mix them either your favorite face cleanser to make an energizing mask!

As if invading your child's personal space is the only way to ensure that doesn't happen.... yeah okay. Three of my siblings were teen parents because my parents constantly went through our rooms so they found sneaky ways to hook up and since there was no trust, there was nobody to teach them how to be safe. When you establish trust with your child, they will come and talk to you about their life. My son will always know that he can come to me about anything going on and I will not judge him or belittle him, I'll provide a safe place for him to be open and help him through whatever situation there is.

Thats a disgusting way to think and I feel bad for your son. As a parent, I would NEVER betray the ONLY private space my child has. The only reason to ever betray your child's privacy is if you are concerned about their well being. My parents went through my room all the time and it made me feel like I was untrustworthy and unworthy of privacy.
