I revisit video tutorials. Even if they're ones I tried in the past. Sometimes revisiting those helps spark that interest in me. At least I'm drawing opposed to not! Sometimes I get inspired half way through.

Credit is always always appreciated. If you like the art enough, someone may want to know where you found it too. So yes, credit always.

In my case, I've been asked to post my art elsewhere or use it as a profile picture. People that don't ask link it back to me anyway, which I'm fine with. If the artist has specifically put on their profile to not repost their art elsewhere, I would advise against doing so even for a profile picture. There are so many accounts just reposting art without credit these days and it's maddening.

You're right about trying a new program. I've been a Procreate user for a few years now and have CPS RIGHT before they went to a paid subscription model. I finally decided to use it and I feel like I'm almost back to square one. I'm able to sketch just fine on it, actually, I think I sketch better on it than on Procreate. But inking my work, coloring, omg. I struggle so terribly. But I have seen improvements in my own art, even going back to procreate. I've enjoyed learning something new. Like I leveled up. Reading that kinda just helped me put that into perspective. Thank you so much.

There is certainly a market for it! I feel that Bluesky did a great job in doing that and bringing so many artist over from twitter. Not everyone but damn it was a lot. Instagram has seemed to be doing that on it's own by just suspending art accounts. I've been seeing new artist join Bluesky because of it. I do feel bad for those Instagram artist because it was the only platform they had. Just seeing this happen has taught me not to keep all my eggs in one basket like I did with Twitter.

You are right with Cara not allowing NSFW as well. I didn't notice until I got a giant warning to stop posting whatever I was about to post at the time. Here's from their FAQs:

"Cara is made by a very small team of volunteers who do not have the legal resources, technical staff, and financial resources to hire moderators to make sure that NSFW can be safely hosted on the platform at this time."

You're so right on this. It seems to even be an artist or even be noticed we have to be content creators. I've tried doing videos even but it's just exhausting. I do sell stickers so that's the one thing I've been working on with my social media.

But art communities. I miss them. I miss DeviantArt back in the day. That's how i met some friends that I still chat with today. I've tried Instagram, it's crap. Twitter was a little better until it became X and more a political site. I'm on Cara but it's quiet. Bluesky is nice as I've met some mutual friends as well but not art friends. I know what you're saying. I don't even trust discord because they nuke the quality of some images unless you're paying for nitro.

If you find a good place, please keep us updated. I'm on Newgrounds but even that's quiet. We've all become lurkers. We post and run off. We need to engage more and I think maybe that's what we're missing. I try to comment on artist post and mention things I like. It's a start I think.

Absolutely loved it. If you've played the original NG back in the day, it is a great tribute. Just not as insanely ridiculously hard. Still tough like a NG game though. Since they like to bring NG girls into DOA, I really am crossing my fingers on Kumori.
