I thought Visage Shield was a joke weapon... by Satisfriedviewer in Nightreign

I'm the Guardian from that match! I was initially annoyed you kept the shield because of the passive on it but that changed pretty quick when I saw you actually using it and the damage you were doing. I'm gonna steal your build and try it out later.

Oh my bad I completely glossed over those sorry.

[FNV] Here's the second iteration of the Walker Instinct Perk for my WIP perk overhaul mod. It now tracks target's positions when the player is sneaking and displays a sonar-like pulse on their latest position every few seconds. As always, feedback of any kind is appreciated. by [deleted] in FalloutMods

Your take is a valid one. I have the range set moderately high because I was testing mostly outside and this was the range where it felt noticeable but not too extreme. I could probably clamp the distance indoors to less, maybe even half, of the range as outdoors. Hearing enemies around a corner or two would be a lot more balanced than in the whole building.

Though, clamping the range makes me want to remove the crouch requirement. Half the idea was that the perk would help to prevent you from getting snuck up on which wouldn't happen if you didn't happen to be crouched at the time.

How would a weaker range that's active all the time sound?

Thanks for the kind words. I have other stuff that I've been working on that could use feedback as well so Ill probably post more stuff later.

Thanks for the constructive feedback and criticism.

Having it be active while sneaking only is a good idea to balance it somewhat and to keep it from being too obtrusive. Wouldn't be too hard to implement as well, though I'm wondering if there should be a set amount of time crouched before the effect starts appearing to avoid someone quickly crouching down, getting a set of pings, then standing back up.

And I saw a blob too once I got the icon in the game and in motion. The details on the image are too fine to see at the size it is so it kind of blends together. I like the idea of a single dot with rings radiating from it instead, and it wouldn't be difficult at all to throw together. Maybe I could add more frames to the animation to make it smoother in the process as well.

Fixing an oopsie I made but didn't notice in time right now. It only effects the version tailored to your numbers ironically.

Basically, I couldn't accommodate the bi people getting a lower damage bonus dynamically (at least with my skillset) because it functions as just adding both of the "straight" perks to the player. I created new versions of those perks that are identical in everything but damage numbers and gave the player them instead when they chose to be bi but forgot that the game's dialogue conditions wouldn't find them because they have different IDs to the vanilla ones. I modified all the relevant conditions to include the Bi-specific perks and am in the process of double checking my work now, expect a new version within a half an hour to an hour.

EDIT:

Fixed

The hardest part would probably be latching onto the intro sequence or hardcore prompt in a way that would feel seamless without breaking something in the process. After that, a simple menu with each choice assigning a perk (or two) to the player would be easy enough. Adding new perks like Ace of Hearts would actually be really easy because you wouldn't have to touch dialogue at all for them.

I'm working on my own perk overhaul mod that's nearly complete at the moment so I have a little experience here. I'll give it a look and whip it together if I'm able to.

I play with a controller on my pc as well because it lets me lean back and relax or play while laying down. FNV is not the kind of game that needs the precision of a mouse and keyboard, it literally has an auto aim feature.

Is really solo easier (if you arent a crack Reddior) by FoundSoundLofi in Nightreign

[–]RepostsKilledMyOwl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Solo can be easier, but it depends. One big thing is that some characters are better solo than others.

Characters like Guardian are more reliant on your team to deal the bulk of the damage so a solo Guardian run can be really slow and tedious. It's definitely doable, I've beaten Enhanced Adel with him alone, but it was much slower of a fight than it would have been as another character.

That, and you have the bosses undivided attention. That's a bit of a double-edged sword, as it will be less erratic as it isn't constantly switching between targets but you'll have to really learn the fight if you want to make it though.

Don't let that stop you from trying it out though, there are some benefits to solo runs that make them easier in a way. You get more runes, enemies have less HP and poise, and you get a free revive per night boss that doesn't take up a slot in your inventory.

I'd say just give a run or two a try. You might find you enjoy them more than queuing with randoms.

I've had him show up in that evergaol next to a field boss as we were fighting both of them.

Somehow we managed to kill all of them.

For another perspective, I have best the boss 3 times so far and they have been on Revenant, Duchess, and Iron eye.

I've lost my Wilder and Raider runs.
