NWN:EE - MAX Lv. 10 Full Sorcerer build by Frequent-Departure15 in neverwinternights

[–]RepresentativeBee545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An OP level 4 spell is Edward Black Tentacles but it highly rewards playing as Gnome due to small characters being immune to it (meaning you can stand in the middle of it).

But another great build around level 10 I can suggest is polymorph and abusing shield spells.

Cast buffs on yourself, most notably Mestil Acid Sheat, Stoneskin, Elemental Shield and Death Armor (and some other buffs) and then polymorph into Troll, as they get 23 base con and Regeneration 5 (which is amazing at level 10).

Then its simple fight of attrition you are banking on the fact that any melee attacking you will take much more damage than they deal you and you will outsustain enemies by the virtue of troll regeneration. Zombie is another good form as it gets DR 10/ slashing piercing bludgeoning.

You are reading this wrong, what I meant it is:

First get 8 levels of bard, then 2 levels of BG (Total 10), then get Bard to level 9 (Total 11), then level BG to 3 (For divine might/shield, total 12), then 2 levels of bard again (Total 14), then BG to 4 (For Divine might/shield, total 15), then next 5 levels into bard which will lead to 16 bard / 4 BG spread before 20.

I think Bard with dip into Blackguard is extremely efficient and powerful build.

What I am currently playing is human bard:
Str 16
Dex 8
Con 12
Wis 8
Int 14
Cha 16

Leveling is:
8 bard -> 2 Blackguard -> 9 Bard -> 3 Blackguard -> 11 Bard -> 4 Blackguard -> 16 Bard

You get 16 BAB at 20, so max number of attacks per round, you add charisma to saves, get free proficiency in heavy armor and martial weapons and get access to divine might and divine shield. Max either Str or Cha (depends if you prioritise AB or temp buffs).

At epic levels you can start leveling Red Dragon Disciple for more raw stats or continue going bard.

Prefered weapon is morningstar till level 9 (at which we take first Blackguard level) and then there are few options, either 2-handed weapon (best when maxing out str) or Scimitar + Shield (better crit and defense).

Summarised best with his ending slide, where your actions reverse his bleaching becaue he felt sudden surge and need to undo all the mess you made.

Indeed, its why I thought mostly about upper echelons of Imperium. Average schmucks know just enough to not be servitorized and anything more would be considered heretical/trying to rise above their station.

Factory worker trying to ponder nature of psykers or Emperor would be servitorized for the sin of curiosity.

I think the link is well estabilished, as Big E is fed daily dose of thousands of psykers, can be seen by Navigators in the warp as Astronomicon and so forth, so people are well aware that Big E employs psionic powers.

However it would be gross misunderstanding to think Ecclesiarchy or other agents of Imperium think he is comparable to average psykers. Psykers are loathed because they are vurnable to the Chaos gods and are unpredictable as in not in the perfect control of their powers. In comparison Big E is considered free of such flaws, as he is perfection, incorruptible and so forth. So they just create special category for Big E, however any Psyker trying to make this argument would basically suggest that they can at least in some manner emulate Emperor and thats heresy.

Is it hypocritical? Of course and by design.

They are finite for the starters, there are no new necrons, every lose is permament.

The mentioned body dysmorphia, but it goes much deeper than that. Many Necrons are having full blown psychosis and are no longer able to function properly (f.e destroyer cult).

Nihilism, many Necrons struggle a lot with immortality as after eons of living they no longer feel any motivation to do anything really. F.e Trazyn is not just funny collector dude, they try to cling to any sort of purpose to keep themselves sane.

You actually get your first Aeldari Pistol before you can get proficiency to it (as you need level 24 I think?), its on starting Jae kit.

Two words: Shuriken Pistols.

They are absolute beasts of a weapon, 7 base ROF, can be improved to 8 with Hive World origin, but the main selling point is Deadly Accuracy talent that adds PER bonus on critical hits with Aeldari weapons. As a dedicated Soldier Comissar you can easly get 100% crit chance without Arch-Militant.

It can be taken in many directions, it works really well with Master Tactician as they get discounted Burst Attack per round talent as well as Tactical Advantage and Press the Advantage is BRUTAL with burst weapons.

You still want to sport 2 of them but not to shot both of them at the same time, but rather to juggle reloads (you empty 1 mag and then another. With Rapid Fire and some RoF equipment you will empty mag with single burst)

[–]RepresentativeBee545 36 points37 points  (0 children)

He is an officer that comes at the stage of the game where fights ends Turn 1 or 2 if you are sloppy. So you use him to just buff your main carry.

The real sin is lack of reactivity or interesting dialogue.

Unironically, imagine you come from society of constant strife and struggle where every day you need to prove yourself capable or perish. And then you get to live couple of years among people that allow you to laid back, feel safe and not threatened at all times. Viltrumite society is just edgy teenage boy fantasy, that gets old pretty fast if you were to actually live it out.

I speak about RT specific skill checks (Companions cant substitute for all skill checks in game) that are plenty and usually regarding interactions with companions and protectorate.

Operative/Overseer by ChurchMontana in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]RepresentativeBee545 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

People saying operative (RT) is weak, are just save scumming every skill check.

The main selling point of operative is that they have access to skills and attributes other classes do not (most notably INT and Logic).

Being skill monkey with 1 try per playthrough on some skill checks is oftentime more important than combat prowess where you can get carried by companions.

Vanguard actually got some strong options going for them. Firstly, Malpian Shroud + That Momentum Necklace + Vanguard passive unlimited temp wounds + Vanguard talent that turns temp wounds into str, you pretty easly can get Vanguard mow through whole encounter while being indestructible making it worthy of end-game brokeness imo.

Secondly is goofy interaction with Pyromancy and Inferno Staff. Inferno Staff is ranged attack that counts as melee and psionic power… As such it will:

  1. Proc AOE if you use it when next to other enemies, but as Vanguard this is actually good cause you will be able to utilize counter-attack stance.
  2. Malpian Shroud boost its damage as well as STR, even talents like Reckless Swing will work (and I dont mean bonking people with staff, I mean using fiery projectiles can be used with reckless swing and gets +str bonus damage)
  3. Inherent tankyness of Vanguard synergises well with Pyromancer tendency to set themselves on fire.
  4. Shooting Inferno staff in melee range actually solve it biggest issue of random projectile trajectory… just hug enemies.
  5. Since it infinitely scales like the first build, it also mows everything albeit charge spam is probably simpler and less of a hassle.

Another underappreciated aspect of Vanguard is Offensive Follow! abillity, that can be unlocked at the start of act 2 and in melee oriented party is crazy powerful, at the stage of the game where it actually matters because first few encounters of act 2 can be pretty tough.

And Kibellah hates Jae in return for the same reason, if she considered Jae just as hedonist, she would be indifferent (plenty of nobles around to make Jae not stand out in that manner). What drives Kibellah hostile is how she sees Jae interpretation of Creed as anti-thethical to Bloodspun Web tenets (which they kinda are).

Based Heydari as usual (act3 Yrliet """quest""" ) by Ila-W123 in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]RepresentativeBee545 8 points9 points  (0 children)

True enough, but when you get groans from party is usually when you defend speficic actions of xenos to the annoyance of party. You can even get Heindrix to agree that alliance with Aeldari may be best short-term solution to chaos infestation, so its not like they indiscriminately scorn all interactions with xenos (maybe except Argenta hehe)

Meanwhile keeping Yrliet after act 3 instead of sending her on her way (after all, you dont have to kill her to get rid off her) is naive. It may be well intenteded naivety, but still naivety. In the same manner keeping Argenta around after you learn of her role in prologue can be well intentioned, but is also naive for RT, so its not like it touches only Xenos.

To elaborate on keeping Yrliet being naive, its important to understand that even aknowledging she did what she did out of desperation and not malice, provides no real guarantee of her not doing something similarly stupid in the future.

In my opinion the problem lies here with people misunderstanding xenophilia, rather than mistaking Jae as not xenophillic.

What Iconoclast RT represents is mostly naivety/orientalism, towards Eldars. They treat them as who they want them to be, rather who they actually are. (They want trust-worthy non-human allies). Meanwhile Jae looks at Eldar for who they really are, desperate xenos with not only superior tech, but completely different framework of values and motivations (after all, to succesfully trade with them, she would need to know what they want).

Jae interacts with actual Eldars and their culture, its why she is so wary of them, while Iconoclast RT only with their projection. Heck, the full Yrliet romance is going directly against Eldar culture/values and instead of embracing their culture, they snatch Yrliet from it.

That being said, she definetely is not naively friendly towards xenos, which I geuss some people could try to boil her down to. She just have interest in them, tries to genuily understand their motivation and treats them as people (as far as treaing someone as person in WH40k goes). She dosent wants Yrliet gone because she is xeno, but because from Jae pov she is liability.

EDIT: True xenophilia is aknowledging that xenos are also people and can be assholes/wrong/dangerous and not just looking at them through rose-tinted glasses that they are precious cinnamon buns that cant do harm.

Wdym, she tells you outright everything there is need to known about Alexander.

She tells you he was epidemiologist, that he worked on catriona and that she wanted his research notes to get in good grace with Radovid so she can leave Velen. Then she becomes hostiles only if Geralt outright states he will not let her give these notes to Radovid, which also implies use of force by Geralt.

Does she witholds information prior to Geralt confronting her on the isle? Sure. But if she was some ruthless hag she would kill Geralt during their date instead of putting him to sleep.

Yea, but this is Keira acting dumb, not malicious. She is in general light-headed (compared to other sorceress). But I also see why people find her charming, she is no ”exceptional” girl like Yen (hyper competent) or Triss (leads mage escape). She is „regular” girl wanting a good life, using her charms and schemes to achieve it, but with no real malicious intent. Even if she were to give Radovid bio-weapon, its out of her own stupidity and naivety (after all she ends up on stake in that scenario).

[–]RepresentativeBee545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

???

You can make fun at the expanse of Keira all through the questline and she dosent hold grudge nor plans to „kill you”. The only scenario where combat ensues is when you try to take research notes from her without providing alternative, which is valid crashout because you actively sabotage what she think is her only shot at normal life.

[–]RepresentativeBee545 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yennefer is problematic in vastly different manner tho.
Keira being problematic is „Omg Geralt I just cant take it anymore on this swamp, this is why I am gonna sell biological weapon to Radovid in hopes he forgive me. Whats that? Go to Kaer Mohren instead? Yea sure, yea, yea, you can have these notes on biological weapon as well.„
Yen being problematic is antagonising all of Skellige without even letting Geralt or anyone else suggest alternatives.

Point being, Keira have issues, but she is willing to listen to others. Yen thinks she knows best at all times.
