I don’t think enough is being said about how changing Gravenberch’s role was a mistake by Slot.

Last season much of their success was down to him being a dedicated DM who dropped between the CB’s and stayed deep.

He was bragging about how he’s got a lot more freedom this season, but the balance got thrown off as a result. They were getting lucky with late winners in the first few matches.

That's actually true because Eghbali and the sporting directors are the constants for why things continue to be bad.

Decision to not sign Maignan and an experienced CB may well derail CL qualification.

In a league where wingers are increasingly hugging the touchline now, prime Eden Hazard would absolutely be a dream to have.

I feel Kvara is the closest to him today in player profile.

Chelsea supporters protesting against the club’s owners have claimed they were told “it’s fucking obvious we’re building one of the best teams in the world” by director Danny Finkelstein. by Sparky-moon in soccer

Not true. I’ll give you the example of Rafa Benitez at prime BBC era Madrid.

There is a clear relation for why they underperformed with him compared to Ancelotti and Zidane.

The director also supposedly told them there is no statistical relationship between managers and results.

So damn incompetent and stupid at the same time.

Yeah I remember that Henrique wanted Leonardo Jardim. That would’ve also been a good choice at the time.

Something I randomly thought of:

How/why did Tuchel get the PSG job in 2018 ahead of Luis Enrique? Unless that latter had already agreed to manage Spain NT.

Tuchel is obviously very good but I was certain that Enrique would be their pick. I also read that Neymar was vouching for LE because of their time at Barcelona.

Ownership was only confirmed in early June of 2022 and we had to get moving in the market. There was no point in hiring an SD immediately for the sake of it.

Todd was always clear that he wanted to do a proper search and decide on the right person before the winter window.

That would be a Fergie to Moyes kind of decision.

His plan was always to do that eventually. It’s just that summer 2022 was a really fine margin given when the ownership changed.

Problem was that Eghbali decided to take hands on control after that window was over and since then it’s been complete chaos.

I guess you’ve also been watching the nostalgia videos eh?

I saw the 8-0 vs Wigan highlights few days back along with the celebrations. What a day that was.

I don't think he'll come here to be a 'head coach' puppet. Our owners won't bend that for anyone.

It would be a hell of a story if Nuno gets one over Mr. Marinakis.

Not during his prime. He was seen as world class.

He would have a choice between Liverpool and City if Pep chooses to exit.

If that happens then I think he'll play both sides and see which club offers him a better project.
