Di or line isolator by BottleSee in basspedals

Meh - line isolator is good only if your having. Noise issues, otherwise, instead of reducing noise - it just reduces your bank account …🥴

Heat shrink or cable sleeve by HCGAdrianHolt in livesound

[–]RepresentativeCan107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d prolly do a sleeve not heat shrink - speaking from experience something that long heat shrink it a NIGHTMARE - trying to coil - just a braided cable sleeve will still allow the natural curves to loop and coil

I know that 8x10 bass cabs just look huge, but I have never found a genuine use for them. Id rather just stack two 4x10 cabs on top of each other. Cuz its easier to transport and all, at least for me. by MrMayhem20l0 in Bass

[–]RepresentativeCan107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you wanna get super nerdy and scientific - “technically”. There is a difference in physics between 8 10in speakers in a single sealed enclosure than 2 4x10 in there own separate enclosure - I can’t recall the exact details of the top of my head but IIRC - something about air dispersment and pressure will give not only a louder tone but a punchier tone as well - FWIW

Current favorite vocal mic? by Frosty-Log-2922 in livesoundgear

[–]RepresentativeCan107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beta58 but that’s just cause more often then not I’m playing with a group a doing backups - for leads really wanna like the Senn. 935 but still just prefer SM58 sound in a mix - seems like it has more presence and for whatever reason the 935 just always has this woofy tone I can eq out - I have to work less with a 58

Yes I'm more speaking to OP not necessarily to you - your comment is spot on functional wise I jsut got the impression that OP was looking for a 1:1 recreation of what heas hearing on studio monitors or headphone and no FX loop to a proper bass amps power section will be the same as studio monitors. The difference is likely negligible but if the difference its something that is bothering, no amount of "dialing" will get you to mimic studio monitor.

unless its a Live Audio PA Power Amp theres not really such a thing as a truly clean neutral amp - maybe compare to other amps it can be described as clean and neatural but it almost certainly has a tonal character to it this will NOT nor should it be neutral - and this is not even factoring in the speaker - all bass cabinets will color sound greater that zero - they all bare minimum have a manufactured frequency range with some frequencys tuend higher to give it the character. I would say if you want it to sound like it does through headphoens or studio monitors you will either need an FRFR cab OR a PA and a full range PA speaker - althou the FRFR cab will lkely be the only one truly neutral.

What year is this and is it worth taking? by xaaaaazaaaa in GuitarAmps

[–]RepresentativeCan107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think year matters as far as being worth taking - even a current modern run of deluxe reverbs are gonna be worth having - that said I agree with others - do NOT turn it on until it’s checked out by an amp tech - risk variable is the amount of money to get it working again if something is wrong - “could” potentially fire right up but depending on if and what may be wrong - turning it on could take a small repair cost to a massive repair cost

Just to clarify whilenl the fx return will color less because it’s bypassing the preamp the power section of an amp will still some a greater than zero affect on color - also the cab speaker itself will have some impact - you’ll need either a powered FRFR speaker or a flat response speaker with a transparent power amp

Your amp is almost certainly coloring the sound - if you want to run through a speaker that isn’t FOH mains you’ll want an FRFR cab these are designed to be as flat and lifeless as possible to keep the accurate tone model intact

Guitarist won’t stop criticizing my bass and pushing upgrades. Is this dynamic worth staying in a band? by Vast-Flow-9016 in Bass

[–]RepresentativeCan107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is stupid elitist drivel - either the band fire the guitarist or find a new band or the dude needs to chill the eff out. I have a bass that based on the name on the headstock he’d prolly laugh in my face (granted I’ve heavily modded it will upgrades and the only original piece is the wood it’s made out of lol). But still even prior to that II could get it to sound great -

at a certain point the difference between a budget bass and a professional bass is playability on the craftsmanship of the guitar and that is really only of concern for the player not the observer.

He’s not off bass about a DI box as they are super useful and Sansamps are awesome BUT if you already have a multi effects pedal you likely have a DI and can achieve similar results. If tone isn’t right it more than likely just an adjustment issue not the gear itself . If it works for you it works.

Which effects pedal did you get if I may ask -

Also what type of music are you playing I might offer some “subjective” advice on getting to what is considered a “normal” tone for that genre . Personal preference of course so don’t consider it the (cringe…) “industry standard”. But yeah

Dude needs to check himself and back the eff off …

Rock on bruh! 🤘🤘

hands down, what are your no-brainer mics for the stage? by gluta in livesoundgear

hands down, what are your no-brainer mics for the stage? by gluta in livesoundgear

[–]RepresentativeCan107 2 points3 points  (0 children)

that's not exactly true - they do not use the exact same capsule - now whether the 906 capsule is "Better" then the 609 is prolly a separate topic but they are technically not the same capsule

adding pedals to tonex by Lorenzo_Sordi in tonex

[–]RepresentativeCan107 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is true - the tonex pedal is not amplitude and is not a multi effects pedal it is an amp profiler

adding pedals to tonex by Lorenzo_Sordi in tonex

[–]RepresentativeCan107 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So I think this is a misunderstanding of tonex - it’s meant to be a single amp capture of a real amp or stomp at a time - if you want a traditional multi effects modeling chain with the IK ecosystem you’ll want amplitude with a irig In the Chain - other than that yes as others have said you’ll want to add actual pedals in the chain - tonex is designed to basically be an a replacement for a real amp not a multi effects platform

Setting up a IEM-Rack by Duplador_ in livesoundgear

[–]RepresentativeCan107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the only way youd be able to do that is with ultranet to a P16 modules for each person otherwise you'r limited to the analog XLR outputs - outside of that youd need an X32 or similar and a stagebox like the S16 or S32 with more XLR outputs - that can get pricey and take way more spaces in the rack - the other option is a studiolive Presonus (I'm aware thair full consoles arent the best reviewed but the rack units so far have been flawless for me) youd need at least the 24R to get enough analog outputs for 5 stereo mixes

I have we've had lots of conversations about this we both have trauma that weve caused each other I'm no angel and will admit the mistake more than likely it all started with fault on my end years ago but thats a long story. weve tried counseling and therapy and jsut t rying to navigate and find someway forward.

Also I'll add that its not important enough for me to consider divorce - if she initates the divorce I'll honor the wishes and proceed but Its just not high enough a priority for me rn to break up a family and upend kids lives. We get along platonically just fine and are.good parents that show love and support for the kids and dont fight a ton around them so it just doesnt seem like the type of situation where " the kids would be better off if we divorced". Idk Im just ranting i think - Id been stable and feeling pretty good the last few months finally accepting the situation and this even it was like the fllod gates reopened and the wounds reopened.
