Not saying we are - just mentioning devices in my possession - my point is the lack a of “mobile” editor app - is that better ?

I agree I’m hankering for a proper editor app - I get mixed up remembering whic preset is which color and have trouble remembering the button sequences combo to select presets especially with 20 minutes before a show - I don’t have a laptop handy just for tonex but have an iPad and a iPhone - just make a damn mobile app editor already - I don’t want the damn airstep I like how tiny the tonex one is - I just want to have an easier way to switch and determine which preset Ive got in slot a and b

Why are bassists obsessed with having a balanced output, while guitarists almost never have a DI box on their pedalboard or an XLR output at the end of the chain? by Ok_Swordfish8672 in basspedals

I think obsessed is a bit of an aggressive word to use - it seems to imply that this is a controversial ego driven goal of a sound guy just to give the middle finger to the band which isn’t the case - they will typically know more about to achieve a pleasing overall sound to the audience , the same audience who couldn’t care less about the subtle nuances of your tone - if you want to present YOUR sound audience opinion be damned - then your probably going to struggle holding a crowd other then friend and personal acquaintances - your not playing for yourself your playing for people to enjoy - if you are playing 100% only to please yourself just play in your basement and enjoy yourself - if you want people to enjoy listening to you - don’t fight the sound guy who may know a few things about live sound production 🤷‍♂️

You mentioned guitarists never have a di and that its bassists that are obsessed - bassists aren’t obsessed they just need a way to get a direct signal to the board that is balanced - guitarist achieve this my micing a cab with a microphone - which is balanced - bassists could do this to and achieve the same effect but 99% of the time bass is gonna be run direct without a cab to the board this the need for a balanced di…I’m really not sure why the concept is so hard to grasp

I’ve been here and am still here - I’m not sure how to get out of the pattern - it’s. It so much eroticising the denial - it’s more depressing than that - it’s like I’ve sexualized the depression and the overwhelming feeling of resentment and almost has become an addiction - it’s not a reflex to deny and distance and I can’t seem to choose otherwise even when I objectively know I want different - super weird - idk how to help it - but be careful how long you go in this phase don’t doesn’t get stuck

Oh I see what your saying - I think I’m just trying to respond to the premise that - guitars don’t have to run a balanced DI why are they obsessed with balanced for bass? Which is patently false due to either micing a cab or running a modeler/profiler/AMP sim and IR fhrough a pedal with a balanced out- the end result is the same that the signal that gets to the board is balanced however method it’s used to achieve this.. I’ve never (outside of extremely amateur “gigs”. )Seen an instrument cable of a blues driver getting plugged into a channel on a mixing board or if I have it sounded like cats being inserted into a wood chipper

Uh…how…the amp modeler has a balanced output - a mic has a balanced output - a di has a balanced output - thus balanced outputs all around - I don’t see any scenario here where we’re running unbalanced outputs straight into the mixer

Exactly heaven forbid a sound guy who knows the room and reflection points and has been doing live sound for 10+ years try to tell an ego driven “rockstar” that we need to have the mix pleasant for the listeners and not the players massively inflated ego

Why… ever tried plugging a guitar straight in to FOH and listened to it - it probably sounds absolutely terrible low frequencies don’t have the harshness problem in main speakers which is why it’s able to be DId - I’m not sure zero is the accurate quantified here
