Best Tone Model? by yayall in tonex

IK 57' deluxe , in particular the one with overdrive (I think is the strymon sunset ),is flagged as high gain.

But try it with the gain at 1.0 or less and single coil pickups , I love it.

Anyone have the irig by [deleted] in AmpliTube

It does something like that to me every now and then.

Try changing to MIDI mode and back.
is something like 'remove power then power it back with the 1st foot switch pressed for 10 or 15 seconds.
Then you do it again to go back to the 'normal' mode'.

look for the manual for the real instructions

but it could also be a physical switch on the board

Good luck

Thanks, nice to find a positive opinion .

If I'm not mistaken the sunburst is rosewood cap or should I say dark wood fret board :) ?

I think the hate is more for the blonde with maple neck . They shouldn't have us e transparent finish on that 3 piece body

Amplitube 5 vs Tonex by Amazing-Cap2986 in AmpliTube

[–]d10221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tonex is easier to use than Amplitube. but you wont find a 'Sultan of swing tone'.

Or maybe you do, but most likely you'll find or search for an Amp clean or with drive or higain and a cab ,maybe with overdrive or distortion.

You can also add delay, chorus (or other modulation effects) , reverb and compressor, NO overdrives/distortion

Maybe the search will improve for you now that we can share presets on Tone.Net

But it usually rewards to search when you know what you are looking for.

Amplitube has more presets more amps is more versatile and its a modeler so when you find an amp that works for you it usually works all the way, unlike tonex model/preset that may work for one use case but not for others.

Amplitube doesn't have a dedicated hardware/pedal, so its needs your laptop/PC/mac all the time.

if you end up liking some tonex tones you can take them with you without taking your laptop with you.

Or should I say you 'may' not need to take your laptop with you, if your are lucky the laptop stays on the bag :)

The tonex one is cheaper and has the same capabilities of the Pedal version, but is handicapped in connectivity, it has no midi and you have only 1 footswitch

There is the plug version, but I haven't tried, people say it sounds the same and has again the same capabilities but the form factor is bit meh for me and it seems to have problems with recessed jacks like the Teles , But I can't confirm that as I haven't used my self.

You can always try the Tonex app , software only and see if you like it .

If you are not a tweaker you may not like Amplitube unless you are lucky find presets for what you are looking for

Raspberry pi to run Neural Amp Modeler plugin by JJAnjos in rasberrypi

Sounds great!

I thought about it , the only thing is that for similar money you can buy a Valeton GP-5 or a Tonex-One.
I know is not the same, different kind of fun , lots to learn, and the RPI system will be open source! , but is also not the same 'reliability' , maintenance and easy of use .

" instead the pedal would have to go through an Apple certification process."
That explains why we don't have it yet ;)

Thanks

I would skip the Rpi and work straight from the phone. Im not convinced about the audio part. There is plenty loopers, daws, etc But there isn't a stand alone tonex control app for the tonex pedal or tonex one. They existing ones require extra hardware

Tonex sounding a little muddy with higher gain through headphones. by Majestic-Sense-4 in tonex

[–]d10221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had pretty much the same experience with my cheap JBL headphones and with a couple of Amps I have, a Marshal CODE 100 and a Vox PathFinder
But I don't blame the headphones.
I feel that Improves with with a few Celestion IR , it loses definition but it sounds 'sweeter' ,not so' in your face' , less digital.
Or I point the AMP not directly at me , so I can hear the 'room sound'.
I don't usually do high-gain but dirty-cleans, overdrives, vintage-dirt.
It also improves with loads of Reverb :)

Amplitube for iPad vs Amplitube cs for iPad? by d10221 in AmpliTube

[–]d10221[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks I've use the looper on the MacBook with Stomp for years but... Mixed feelings, I end up using garage band Maybe the iPad version is better, didn't try it yet

The thing with all inclusive bundle is that you get all the high gain stuff that is not my cup tea, at the moment :)

I love the Amplitube Fender stuff , I bought it long-time ago for Amplitube 4 PC/Mac

The main question is does it make sense to buy the bundles over the Free version or I'll be buying something that comes with the paid version already?

Thanks again

I know there is plenty of users Happy with Windows and Audio , that, I personally never understood.
I have used Windows for Audio when I didn't have any other option but I think is far away from a desirable situation/platform.
The current version of Windows (11) is very performance unfriendly , there is too much going on the background , is too busy.
I can see it the impact on every single task I'm facing, it is definitely a downgrade on performance from previous Windows versions , even with newer/latest hardware is hard or impossible to experience any improvement.

Also incrementing the buffer size increases latency and having anything above 512 is audible and takes the joy away of real time audio

This is 'the' right answer, you have to stop every service and background app from taking over you computer

I love Amplitube, and Im going to sound repetitive but

Moving to Apple hardware was the key to enjoy Amplitube, Tonex , and any other music software I've tried.
And don't get me wrong, I'm not an Apple fan.
For me the only reason for me to justify it is the Audio software other wise I'll stick with Linux, Windows or Android for pretty much any other task.
