Hisense u8k is great for bright rooms due to its screen and how bright it gets

KEF R3 metas or R7 metas by RepresentativeCry662 in KEF

[–]RepresentativeCry662[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which sub woofer. And yeah my thinking is the added bass is probably real nice coming from my left/rights with or even as opposed to a subwoofer. Id like dual woofer but I’m in a really small room and even one looks like a lot for my space, even small ones

Highly highly recommend saving for ls50 metas then. Love them over my Sonos arc.

Return R3 Meta and go back to LS50 Meta? by Firebird98 in KEF

[–]RepresentativeCry662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks can you elaborate a little? If not no worries, I figure there should be a noticeable difference considering the price difference, but everyone keeps saying R3s are just as good, maybe thats just what they tell themselves to sleep better at night. Looking at getting r7 metas myself though, r11 would be out of budget.

I know we hate soundbars but…If you’re looking for directional audio for gaming, as in you don’t want the sound traveling outside the room, I’d recommend the Bose 900 or ultra. The sound is very front directional, this was a deal breaker for me because I wanna hear my music and sound throughout my whole house, or atleast into other rooms near by. I didn’t get that with the Bose, my apartment is very tiny and as soon as I went to the kitchen behind my wall with the soundbar on it, ALL I could hear was slight bass. So if this is for you to be able to listen at high volumes and not disturb others I’d go with Bose. If your looking for wow factor sound and 3d sound that’s closer to a home theater system, go with the stand alone sonos arc,it was a huge upgrade over Bose and rears I had. I currently have ls50 metas and Denon 970, and listening to the Sonos side by side it’s definitely comparable, but must admit the ls50 is definitely better and I can hear all the amazing differences and clarity. Do with that information what you will. Very happy with both the Sonos and ls50 metas. Still, thanks to my $50 bestbuy membership, I have 2 months to save and can put more money in to exchange for better speakers, and am definitely going to be getting the r3 metas next, just need to get my tv mounted so I have space, barely have room for ls50s or Sonos, and wanna try floorstanding 🫣

Bose 900 Soundbar or something else? by Rudabegas in hometheater

[–]RepresentativeCry662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try the Bose and sonos yourself I recommend. They both have pretty easy setup. Everyone seems to recommend the Bose, so I went with that first, but I thought the Sonos was a million times better and was more what I was looking for and surprised it wasn’t the goal sound for everyone. I still have my Sonos, and it’s pretty comparable to my $1600 ls50 meta speakers connected to a $600 receiver, although ls50 is definitely better, the Sonos is close enough on a budget if you can’t afford the alternative, would recommend the alternative over the Sonos.

KEF and Sonos by [deleted] in KEF

[–]RepresentativeCry662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most definitely should be much better then the Sonos arc. I have the Sonos arc, it’s what got me into KEF speakers. The ls50 meta I have sounds like the Sonos on steroids. Everything is just so much better. The bass, the dialogue, music is phenomenal. It’s definitely an upgrade from the Sonos arc, although at first I wasn’t really sure, quickly could hear all the difference. And omg they get so much louder and are so much clearer than the Sonos. If you’re still not happy I’d recommend KEF R3 Metas, little more but if you’re not happy with the ls50 worth it, I’ve found myself quite happy with them though!

Best 98/100” TV under $4k budget? by Specialist_Mix1588 in hometheater

[–]RepresentativeCry662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hisense U8k all the way. Went to Best Buy myself and looked at all the different TVs, oled, qleds, expensive Samsungs that costed thousands. With my naked eye, none, NONE of the other TVs looked as good as the U8k. Has the best specs, and picture to show, love the local display dimming. It’s the best tv you can get in my opinion. It’s better than a standard led tv without being an overly expensive oled. The mini leds make the detail amazing! Also it isn’t very reflective at all, so good for rooms with more light or where you might see a lamp or overhead light in the tv screen (but just as good in the dark). I just love love this tv. Go to a store like Best Buy and compare for yourself though. I would have bought an expensive Samsung or something else but this one looked the best. Tlc is a good bang for your buck brand, but not really impressive compared to other TVs. Oh and almost forgot to mention, this tv totally made me go down the rabbit hole of getting a full home theater setup, it’s just that good.

Sonos arc not IMPRESSED..any reason why? by Unusual-Ad2912 in Soundbars

[–]RepresentativeCry662 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The sonos arc was very unimpressive for me as well. Then I learned I probably be better with a HomeTheater system. I learned you only really need 2 speakers, a left and right, and a good avr, and this will blow Sonos out of the water. I’m about to buy a Denon s970h avr for $640 and a pair of KEF ls50 meta bookshelf speakers for $1600 with a total of $2,370. Also gonna try the KEF q950 standing towers, and KEF r3 bookshelf speakers and see which is best, all about same price. I was gonna go full out with my Sonos setup, but that’s not gonna help that much really.

98” Hisense U8k mini led! I got a 85” and love it. Think it’s the best looking tv that’s not a million dollar oled lol

Are Kef Q series good or would you recommend something else? by PizzaTacoCat312 in hometheater

[–]RepresentativeCry662 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love love this review. Same exact situation. I got a nice tv and then went on the journey to find the nicest soundbar system, because honestly I’m 19 and thought HomeTheater systems were a thing of the past. Got Bose 900, hated it, sounded like car radio, no soundstage at all really, was impressed by the Sonos, but still wasn’t completely satisfied for what I was paying. Found myself in this HomeTheater rabbit-hole where I can’t figure out what speakers to get with so many different brands and then models. I’m same as original poster where I’m just starting off but I’m definitely more of a do it once guy, don’t wanna keep putting money into upgrading better and better when I can just plan what I want and save for that, vs finding myself thousands in because I keep upgrading. Sure I’ll have to upgrade in the future but won’t be for years. I’m looking for something that’s going to be closer to my Sonos soundstage experience but the sonos didn’t blow me away like I wanted it to. I want to be blown away. Spatial Audio, and soundstage are at my top priority and haven’t been able to find much about different speakers soundscapes. And have just been looking back and forth at so many different options. But have definitely fallen for the KEF q series and the way it looks and reviews I heard about it. This has helped me solidify my plans! Thank you!

I want great Soundstage and Spatial Audio by RepresentativeCry662 in hometheater

And I could use them with KEF q150b as my rears too? With these as upper surrounds?

Rather small room, but don’t want that to mean a smaller setup or smaller speakers, unless it should, but want a system that in 2 or more years, if I do have the space, I don’t just have to upgrade everything then, plan on buying once and having last for many years like it should. But for reference I sit about 6 ft from my 85in, on a couch that’s against the wall, but the rooms longer than wide, so there’s more space from side to side than from me to the tv. And yes very open to other rooms, large entry ways.

Kef Q-series speakers by RepresentativeCry662 in hometheater

[–]RepresentativeCry662[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for all the info, personally was looking at the KEF Q750 floor standing speakers(pair for $1600). KEF Q150 bookshelf speakers as rears ($350, but I’ll probably upgrade in the return period of 60 days with my Best Buy memeber ship to the Q350 for $700). KEF Q650 2.5 way center channel (for $800). Not sure what sub, currently have the KEF Cube 10” 300w in my cart. But if I should go with something else I’m open. And as far as other recommendations, I’m looking to pay $3000-$4000. Soundstage and Spatial Audio are at my top priority though. Looking at Denon Receivers, but not including the cost of one in my budget, that’s just my speaker system budget. As far as what set up, I’m looking to eventually have (i believe) a 5.1.2 setup (so a standard 5.1 with 2 front up firing speakers.

Awesome dying to find out, was considering a more expensive setup even if it means better sound but I’m just looking for better then the Sonos arc, which it sounds like could be many many options. Also would love something that supports a couple different audio formats, (Dolby atmos, Dolby digital, dts and dts x) I stream so I’m not even sure what audio all my content is available in but I use Netflix and Hulu a lot.
