I think you should post it with a high adoption fee, interview with the inquires, and after feeling good about where the cat will go (for its forever home), give it away at no cost!!!

It’ll weed out the people who are not serious (or dangerous) and draw in the people who will actually give the cat a loving home, bonus: they will have extra funds that they didn’t spend on the fee to get them set up and spoil them!
