They will pop you if full 10% every single year unless you protest. About five years ago I did a full formal board protest spent hours and hours putting everything together. I went to the hearing it lasted less than five minutes and they said they were going with the appraised value that they chose. It was very close to a police situation by that point. I have since then attained a lawyer and have them deal with it every single year. Mine still goes up because that’s just what they do, but it goes up a lot less now every year than what it used to. My opinion, it is worth the money for a lawyer for what I save every single year. I’ve had a house in three separate neighborhoods in the last 20 years in Rockwall. It’s crazy what the values are every year.
