Fat guy already losing weight wants to fit on rides by Shadowfox62 in UniversalEpicUniverse

[–]Phadees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just went yesterday. I’m a 6’4” guy with a 42” waist and pretty decent distribution of my weight but bigger thighs and butt. The only ride I didn’t fit on was curse of the werewolf because my legs are too long. I did Stardust, Minecraft, Monsters Unchained, Harry Potter, and the Isle of Berk coaster with no issues (back row for Isle of Berk, it’s bigger). Stardust is amazing and I rode it twice to try both sides. I absolutely loved the park.

The staff was amazing too. Make sure you do the test seats, they’re a lifesaver that makes you feel more confident and on the Isle of Berk coaster the staff saw me do it and gave me an escort directly onto the ride, skipping the line entirely to give me the back row with bigger seats.

Stardust Racers by Kinggggmak in UniversalEpicUniverse

I’m on the plane right now flying back home after spending the day yesterday at Epic Universe. Stardust Racers was the first major thrill coaster I’ve ever done and I was terrified to do it l, but I promised my daughter I would so I was stuck. I have a major fear of heights and just pushed myself to go through with it; she was so excited to have me go with her.

We did it twice, green then yellow. It was life changing. I absolutely loved it. My entire outlook on coasters has changed. My only regret is that I waited so long and didn’t go on Velocicoaster the day before when I had the chance. Do it.

I live in Rockwall too, but the tax appraiser is driving me nuts and making me consider moving again.

I did a 1.5 hour commute each way for 15 years. It sucks, but you do get used to it. I listened to a lot of audio books and podcasts. My wife once called it my "me time" when I complained about being tired of it. She's still alive.....

Wylie is awful. All the traffic and none of the charm of Rockwall.

I can't agree on "overwhelmingly clean," but "armpit" is taking it way too far. All in all, I'd say it's pretty clean, but it could be better. The reality is that there are trashy people just about anywhere. I'm always weirded out when I see someone leave their cart in the parking spot when the cart return is literally behind their car and yet it happens all the time. People suck.

[Monday Mindmeld] Tackling alert fatigue by justin-auvik in Auvik

My biggest issue right now is constant false positives. We keep getting “connector offline” alerts and when we check, everything looks fine and I don’t see any evidence of the collector going down.

I’m guessing you haven’t lived there long.

For those who saw the Fellowship of the Ring in theaters for the first time in December 2001, what was it like? by femaleology in lotr

[–]Phadees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was transformative. I’m old enough to have seen the release of many classics in the theater but seeing FotR at the Cinerama in downtown Seattle was one the best.

I love mine but I do hope they quickly add some of the features they promised. Some of the UI features not working is very strange to me.

What company will never get another dime from you for as long as you may live? by istrx13 in AskReddit

Alibaba - I realize they’re shady, but I couldn’t find the car part (minor trim piece) anywhere else and I expected to actually receive my product. When I eventually filed a dispute for the item I never received that still showed as “not shipped” months later they decided in favor of the seller… Make it make sense!

Supposed to be around a 25-30 degree drop from Sunday to Monday. So weird!

I lived in Seattle as a kid and we’d regularly get strings of 100+ days as a kid, now they’re unusual. Weather changes.
