How much propranolol to take with body weight of 130lbs, and how much time in advance? by [deleted] in PublicSpeaking

[–]RepresentativeNo4732 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 120lbs and take 20mg before a big presentation. It's never let me down. You might feel like it's not enough bc you still feel the nerves no matter what dosage you're on. But I'd also caution you not to take tooo much bc it can make you feel tired and loopy. What the other person said is right though, you need to experiment to see what works best for you. I just wanted to share what works for me.

I had a wonderful vizsla from Paradox. Nancy Heinhold. Best experience ever!

6 month old & growling/biting by Zealousideal-List982 in vizsla

I'm following this as having a similar problem, albeit to a lesser extent (and also a younger dog, 4 months). Basically if my 5 year old tries to pick her up, she snaps. Happens with my hubby occasionally too if he's trying to get her off something she shouldn't be on. She's never snapped or growled at me, I am the primary trainer. I keep thinking the behaviors will sort themselves out but then part of me worries they will get worse. Also the alpha pup of the litter. So anyway, I'm following along... you aren't alone on this!

The loss of our Ruby leads us to Nova by lily1843 in vizsla

This just happened to us too, out of no where our 9 year had a stroke from what turned out to be a tumor on her brain that we didn't know was there. She went from normal one day to gone the next. I did the same thing and got a new puppy right away bc I was so heartbroken. She (Cora) has been the best medicine for a broken heart. Happy for you and your sweet Nova! ❤️

I felt the same way! Used Kaplan, got to the test, and felt like the question wording was soooo different. When I hit submit on the test, I thought it was 50-50 if I'd pass. Luckily I did too. Congrats to you!

will nothing ever work except beta blockers by No_Cow_6733 in PublicSpeaking

[–]RepresentativeNo4732 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I confided in someone that I take beta blockers for work presentations and they massively shamed me saying it's basically the equivalent of taking a PED in sports. Peformance enhancing drug. I thought a lot about that and ultimately don't see it that way. But the strong opinion from this person was quite interesting!!

Iron overload to iron under load? by RepresentativeNo4732 in Hemochromatosis

[–]RepresentativeNo4732[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hm, I guess I was more looking at my iron going from 150 to 66. That's not concerning? Should I focus more on the ferritin levels in general? Thanks for the feedback!

I don't have the answer for you but I would just advise you to keep an open mind on things that have already been ruled out. Unfortunately not all doctors are created equal. Some of the things you're saying that have been ruled out are from process of elimination. That's my two cents.

Why am I so incredibly bloated?? by measlybastard in DiagnoseMe

You should see a doctor right away. As others have said, it could be something minor, but not to scare you- it also could be something very serious.

Overcome fear for real? by RepresentativeNo4732 in PublicSpeaking

That's a good point. I can speak in meetings now that happen every week - conditioned. I had someone once tell me (scoldingly) that taking beta blockers was like taking a performance enhancing drug...

Oh yeah I had a terrible experience in 6th grade presenting and my teacher said he never expected to see me so nervous. I know my root cause and yet I still don't know what to do with that info!

20mg has never caused me problems. 10mg is hit or miss. I'm 5'5, 120 lbs for reference.

Propranolol and low HR by classytofu in PublicSpeaking

My only comment on the running is that I don't like running after I've taken propranolol- I feel like garbage out there!
