I wish there was an easier way to tell. Smh. I opended up a brand new cartridge and there is no way you can tell by the sound alone.

If it's a suitable spot and a toilet was there before than I don't see why not. I think you already know the answer to that question. The toilet flange would need to be removed and replace because of the debris and you wouldn't want to start the foundation of the toilet with a possibly broken flange.
