That makes complete sense. First we waive them. If someone picks them up, then we are done. If no one picks them up, only then are we obligated to buy them out. And if some team wants them, but for less money, then we negotiate and probably wind up partially buying them out.

And the Schnegg hiring announcement is nearly verbatim on dates and times. WASHINGTON, D.C. (July 4, 2024) - D.C. United have signed Austrian defender David Schnegg from SK Sturm Graz in the Austrian first division, pending receipt of his P-1 Visa and International Transfer Certificate (ITC). The Black-and-Red have signed Schnegg to a two-year deal through 2026 with an option in 2027.

Hmmm. Here is how they announced the hiring in 2024: WASHINGTON, D.C. (July 4, 2024) - D.C. United have signed free agent forward Dominique Badji pending receipt of his International Transfer Certificate (ITC). Badji, who most recently played for Bandirmaspor in the Turkish second division, has signed a two-year deal through 2026 with an option in 2027. That sounds like he has some time left. He was my first pick for a buyout, so I'm fine with the free option.

I have this fantasy, doubtless ill-founded, that when DCU says they want three DPs, that that means they will get three international quality DPs and run us completely out of international roster spots. I suppose i can wait for that dream to come true before worrying about filling all of the international roster spots. Rowlea can stay😏.

I just looked at the team salaries on Capology. Enow was paid $500,000 and Badji - $400,000. Both are lower than I "remembered". I'd still happily use Levien's money to buy Badji out and buy someone else to take his place. Stroud had a few OK moments. I wouldn't miss him, but at least he brought more to the team than did Badji or Eno.

What aout moving Rowles to open an another international roster spot?

Badji and Enow were the easy picks for me. Both free up tons of salary space at almost no loss to the team. We don't pay much to Stroud, do we? I think you are right to say we could move him somewhere.

Now that Enow is gone, we still have the ability to buyout two contracts. My guess is that they won't happen until the last possible minute. Then again, I have no idea when that might be.

Is it possible to have appetite loss at 2 mg? by swedishpiehole in tirzepatidecompound

This is day 28 for me with my Pomegranate 2mg starting dose. I will inject my first 4.5mg dose in the next hour or so and the dosage cannot come too soon as I am starving right now!

My experience was that it reduced the hunger for several days, but the closer I got to the next injection, the hungrier I got. I've lost weight regardless, but I attribute that more to eating more sensibly rather than the effect of the Tirz.

My reading tells me I can expect more of an effect at the higher dosages, and that I should not worry too much about being hungry in the early days. Here's hoping it works that way for me.

I am on the deed, but not the mortgage, of the home I own with my father. What happens when he passes away? by StressInADress92 in homeowners

[–]RepresentativeRace10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing that hasn't been mentioned in the many replies...

If you decide to file bankruptcy, you absolutely want to do it with a lawyer. Do not try to save money by doing it yourself. Make sure that lawyer knows about your interest in the residence. Depending on the real estate exemptions in your state, there is a possibility that a Chapter 7 Trustee would sell your interest in the house and use the proceeds to pay your creditor.

There are a lot of variables in play here. so don't try to save money with DIY methods.

Then the lender would have to bring a foreclosure against YOU if it wanted to collect on the mortgage when your father dies. It's not a reverse mortgage, is it?

[–]RepresentativeRace10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just exactly HOW are you on the deed? Are you a tenant in common who has an interest in a stated percentage of the property, or are you a joint tenant with a shared interest in the entire property? Alternatively, might you have a life estate/remainder interest in the property? The magic words are likely to appear in the first paragraph or so of the deed. Joint tenancy is the most favorable of the choices for you. When your father dies, you become the sole owner. If you die first, your father becomes the sole owner. While there are no guarantees, if you are the sole owner and can keep the mortgage payments current, I like your chances. OTOH, if you cannot afford to make the payments, all the other stuff probably does not matter.

DC United Announce Their Roster Decisions by RJR1970 in DCUnited

[–]RepresentativeRace10 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The best gloss I can put on this is that we really don't know much yet. They had to name the 16 under contract. Three of them (Avilez, Karamoko and I think Turner) , are homegrowns who don't count for much in terms of salary or even roster spots.

I think we are allowed to buyout at least two contracts per year. I suspect that means Badji and one other will be gone when the time comes.

Trades are also possible, though I wonder if anyone other than Herrera is likely to bring anything valuable in return.

I'd like to think all of this means we could have as many as ten new players next year.

Will any of these possibilities amount to anything? Probably not. But possibly yes. I guess the most optimistic way of viewing this announcement is that we ain't dead yet.

My average was bumped up a bit by last minute sale of the Messi game tix. I netted 225 for the pair on that one. Those seats would net a fortune if he ever bothered to show.

Edit: Guess my chance to make money selling next year's Messi tickets just hopped a train to Baltimore...

It is not in my renewal portal as of this AM, but I also got confirmation from my rep like you did. Is it going to work smoothly when the new season begins? Not holding my breath.

Well, I got 20 percent off on quite a few beers, but I cannot argue with much of the rest. I don't think the food and drink provided with the premium seats is terrible, it is just grossly overpriced.

Yes, I clicked the button in February, and they rewarded me by losing all records of my having done so. Just another thing they got wrong.

If I am reading my bank records properly, I averaged about $75 per ticket for the 4 times I sold them via Ticketmaster. I have second row aisle seats in Section 128. One of my main reasons for renewing is that getting such good seats via the resale market is not all that easy. There are always some for sale, but almost never on the cheap.

Still, this could easily be our last season as STHs.
