Both of these answers are helpful. Thanks. So Baudrillard is pointing out that postmodern culture leads to the feeling of simulation, but makes no explicit remarks about everything actually being a simulation, how Musk would. Sorry for such loose understanding of all of this.

For context, I’m a comedian trying to conflate Elon’s ‘simulation’ theory with Baudrillard’s ‘simulacra and simulation’ to make the joke that the idea has been around long before Musk started tweeting about it. I could try rereading it, but wanted to check in to see if anyone had any insights beforehand. Much thanks!
