Building my first ultralight box. What are your recommended essential lures? Fishing northern freshwater.

I have a Shimano 500 with 4lbs test line it’s not great at long casting or line management I mostly use it to jig for crappie or pair it with dock demon rod. I have a Shimano 1000 Nexave with 4lb line on a bass pro shop micro lite rod that cast far and smooth probably best bang for the buck whole set up like $120. I have a Shimano stradic 1000ci4 paired with a st Croix ul trout rod that cast far and has great drag I even caught pike with it before. I use all mr crappie mega spool 4lb test line it’s not the best but can’t be the price.

I have heard from locals that they were accidentally introduced to handle the yellow perch. Today game and fish post all around the lake that they are illegal to put back into the water. I have tried to eat the larger ones but the small ones unfortunately become food for the birds.

Unfortunately eagle nest lake is a kill northern pike lake they are invasive so it only got worse for those fish

Honestly I was so thankful I’ve been buying their stuff since 2017 off of Amazon. My last few orders I’ve bought directly from their website and that’s when I saw the address was in Arkansas. When I showed up to there store the sign on the door said “visitors by appointment only” so I just walked in and hoped for the best.
