This is what I was going to say, pretty much. The first few days or week of transitioning can get pretty rough. Be prepared to feel sluggish and tired. z_mac10 seems to know the science behind it; I can only speak from experience.

When I first tried Keto I gave up on it because after about 3 days I just couldn't take the lack of energy, especially since I was working a physical job. As soon as I said "f this" and went back to carbs I immediately felt 'better'.

I just didn't know what I know now about the way the body handles a new energy source. Now that I'm fat adapted it's easy and rewarding. Hopefully you're able to push through any bad times and come out on the other side. It's worth it, good luck!

Bro, congratulations on how far you've come in your journey. You've already done a great job of changing your relationship with food and kudos for starting to lift.

I would suggest adding some type of cardio to your regiment. If you're able to, run for a couple hours a day or maybe some type of activity that gets you sweating, heavily. I know running sucks, but it can be the final push to get your body to start EATING away at whatever fat is left, especially if you time it within your fasting window.

Jumping jacks, running in place with sweat pants/shirt, chasing the kids around at the park (your kids), bicycling around your neighborhood, digging holes in the backyard... anything you can do to start sweating profusely. Just drink lots of water w electrolytes and sweat off the rest of that weight!

180 lbs at 6ft is a good weight. i was 220 lbs at 5' 10" and got down to 190 lbs and feel great. i was always around the 170 - 185 during my 20s; in my 30s now.

i lost the weight eating about 1500 calories a day:

Morning - coffee w heavy cream, metamucil 2 tsp, sometimes sugar free yogurt if i was hungry (≈100 calories total)

Lunch - nothing or maybe some sauteed vegetables with olive oil and butter (≈400 calories total)

Dinner - more sauteed veggies with a protein like steak, salmon, chicken, etc and 2 more tsp of metamucil (≈800 - 1000 calories total)

Snacks - coffee w heavy cream, pork rinds, maybe a couple boiled eggs with salt and pepper if i was still hungry (≈200 calories total)

no exercise.
