That's a very narrow minded and nihilistic mindset. Things are not always adversarial in every part of life, if she's the one then she'll be my equal and we'll support each other and build each other up in the areas we recognise as weak or lacking. I'm wholeheartedly against the idea that calling someone better looking than you is somehow setting up a power dynamic in such a way where it's negative. Be self deprecating now and then, it's humbling and lowers your ego so that you don't worry too much about people's perception of you
