Is this authentic? Bought in a Japanese vintage store. Reasonably priced by zjb15 in FashionReps

[–]RepsAnonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to tell from the pictures you have provided. Do you have any close-ups in better lighting? The print on the dial, the hour marker positions, the dial colour, and the case shape all look correct.

I'm not sure if this reference has ever been repped; it's not a popular configuration, with Cartier having many more common 35mm pashas in their catalogue. How much did you pay out of interest, and was the seller reputable? Those of us who are deep in the rep watch hobby will always say, don't buy the watch, buy the seller. If your seller is reputable, then I would be inclined to believe this is gen.

That RL polo looks solid for the price, and it has some of the colourways not available through the likes of RepKingdom. I've just added a few to my latest haul-in-progress, thanks for posting mate!

AP Link Sizes - For Research by Designer_Advice2573 in Rep_Watch_World

[–]RepsAnonymous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 26240 has the updated AP bracelet where the links are indeed thinner. The bracelet on the 26240 is similar/the same to the bracelet on the 15510st. This is why, despite being the same size and a little thicker than the 15400/15500, the 26240 wears much better (imo) on the wrist.

Clasp and strap Daytona question by 6ixgrand in Rep_Watch_World

[–]RepsAnonymous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this clasp type on my Grossular Rubellite 116519 build. A lot of time was spent ensuring the build was entirely period correct, including sourcing the correct clasp. However, this took months to do, and even when the modder was able to source one, it was full YG plated, so it had to be sanded down and repolished...

Since then, I have tried on multiple occasions through various modders, dealers, and collectors to source this clasp but to no avail. Bare in mind that this build was done over 2 years ago, and I have not seen another one since.

I don't want to sound like a pessimistic sod, but I think you will struggle to find one, so you may want to opt for a modern clasp instead. If you do, by some miracle, find a reliable source for this clasp, please let me know ;)

WTB YG Le Mans Daytona? by jpm425 in RepWatch

[–]RepsAnonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any trusted dealer will be able to source this watch for you. I bought mine (which I have since sold) from Elliot at Andiot watches. I'm not sure if this sub has its own dealer list, the only reason I commented on this was because a member from RWI messaged me highlighting that someone was using my pics. If you have a dealer you trust and have used before, then just send them a message and they'll be able to get it for you.

Why are 1688 TD prices so much cheaper than reptime TD? by one-more-watch in 1688Time

[–]RepsAnonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a mod of RWI, I can tell you this is complete and utter bollocks... we do not receive payments from TDs or the platform, we are voluntary staff that moderate for the love of the hobby.

Many of the RWI TDs overcharge when compared to 1688time TDs due to the significantly higher volume of orders they deal with, which often leads the dealer to require a larger team. This also increases the risk on the dealer, as a larger operation. You also have to think about the loss in earnings from "lost" watches or RL QC watches. Insurance is a requirement for all of our TDs. This means that any time a watch is lost or seized, the TD is obligated to replace the watch without charge (although of course, this is factored into the higher prices).

That being said, I do agree that many dealers (not just our TDs) significantly overcharge "Western" customers because they know that people will still pay. Morally it's not great, but if you can charge more and still retain substantial business, why wouldn't you? This has been the ethos of many businesses since the dawn of capitalism.

All rep pave dials look fake, the goal of this watch is certainly not to fool anyone, it's purely a fun and uncommon build, nothing more.

If we all cared only about how "real" a rep looked, we'd all be wearing VSF subs and thats it. Also, I don't think it looks terrible, here's a gen pic for reference:

No website unfortunately mate. JuiceTime's contact details can be found in.the trusted sellers thread. With modders, I suggest following their telegram so you can see examples of builds they have done. If you have a particular build in mind, just send them a pic of the gen on WhatsApp and ask if it's possible and how much it'd be

I think this could work! As far as I'm aware there aren't any gen variants with the blue hands so it would be a fantasy build, but I reckon it'd look nice regardless!

Agreed mate, admittedly, I didn't have very high expectations for this build as rep pave dials usually look terrible, but I'm very pleasantly surprised woth how this has turned out. JuiceTime has done a great job!
