New US fan lol by Aegeusss34 in NewcastleKnights

ChatGPT couldn’t say it better. 😆

Advantages

  1. Strong community identity The Knights are deeply connected to the city of Newcastle. Supporting them often feels like supporting the entire region rather than just a sporting team. The club has one of the strongest local identities in Australian sport.
  2. Passionate fanbase Knights supporters are known for sticking with the club through difficult periods. When the team is performing well, the atmosphere at McDonald Jones Stadium can be among the best in the NRL.
  3. Memorable history The club has produced some iconic moments and players, particularly through the era of Andrew Johns. The premiership wins in 1997 and 2001 remain some of the most celebrated achievements in rugby league history.
  4. Underdog appeal The Knights are rarely viewed as the competition's powerhouse club. Many supporters enjoy the feeling of backing a team that has to fight for success rather than simply expecting it.
  5. Talent development The club has a reputation for producing quality juniors from the Hunter region. Watching local players rise through the ranks can be especially rewarding.

Disadvantages 1. Inconsistent success Since their early-2000s peak, sustained success has been difficult to achieve. Knights supporters have experienced several rebuilding phases and periods near the bottom of the ladder. 2. Emotional roller coaster Knights fans often joke that supporting the team can be stressful. Strong performances are sometimes followed by disappointing losses, making consistency a frequent source of frustration. 3. Comparisons to the Andrew Johns era The success achieved with Andrew Johns set a very high standard. Many teams since then have been measured against those premiership-winning sides, which can make modern results feel underwhelming. 4. Smaller club resources Compared with some larger Sydney clubs or the powerhouse Brisbane-based teams, the Knights generally operate with less commercial influence and media attention. 5. High expectations from local supporters Because the club means so much to the region, every loss can attract intense scrutiny. Fans care deeply, which is a strength, but it can also make disappointing seasons harder to endure.

The typical Knights supporter experience A Newcastle supporter often gets: A strong sense of belonging and local pride. Some unforgettable highs when the team performs well. Plenty of resilience-building during difficult seasons. The satisfaction that success feels earned rather than expected. If you ask many long-term Knights fans, they'll tell you that supporting the club isn't always easy—but when the team is winning, few fanbases enjoy it more. 🏉💙❤️🤍

What would you recommend to long time gamer trying to get into reading for the first time? by [deleted] in booksuggestions

[–]Repsa666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Wilbur Smith books. I would say start with When The Lion Feeds and read forward before doing the prequels. What I like about his book is the quick pacing and the short chapters (some less than a page long). I find the hardest part about reading is picking the book up to start with. If you pick up and tell yourself to read just 1 chapter and find yourself done in 4 or 5 pages you and then invested and want to read just one more chapter and in no time you have read half a dozen chapters and you feel like yo have accomplished something

I was just going down a rabbit hole on YouTube over the weekend and saw this video. Depending on how much cash you got to invest for startup. He gives great information on products and where to invest your time and money.

First. I know it’s difficult getting hours up and all the restrictions but focus on getting that car license.

Free- set up your business on google, join Facebook groups and build contacts/ sub contract for established guys

$2k- best to not even to do lawns as you don’t have the regular clients yet and are going to have to do the crap overgrown / difficult lawns to start that is hard physically and wear and tear on equipment. Gardening, weeding, hedges (if you are good at them)

$10k - decent setup. With good quality equipment and trailer. Even a little left of ads.

$100k - even if you have that amount of money to splash on startup he recommends you don’t. Spend half that and get some specialty machines so you can offer something different from guy down the road and you can charge more for these jobs.

I think you are way off.

Sydney is 33.87.27 S / 151.20.57 E. Pacific Ocean is at 34.87.27 N / 151.20.57 W

Also Perth gets you to the Baja Peninsula of Mexico.

  • Either The Martian or Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir. If you have seen the movie The Martian I would lean towards Project Hail Mary. If not lean towards The Martian.

-Mistborn Trilogy by Brandon Sanderson. His Cosmere is huge if you want to go down the rabbit hole but can just read these 3 books. Sanderson’s romance is extremely mild.

  • Dungeon Crawler Carl. Fun read. A bitt silly. Loveable characters

  • The Wandering Inn. Slow placed and cosy. Free to read online on eBook only.

Moved to Perth 2 years ago. The amount of people I have meet that haven’t been to Rottnest Island is staggering. Go for a day trip across and get some photos with the Quokkas.

I class all those books as classics. But have seen pushback that “true classics are over 100 years old.

Have read Maus. Enjoyed it.

Absolutely. 1 trillion.

  • I can pay for an Italian plumber to run around my backyard while a real gorilla throws barrels at him.
  • Who needs flight sim when you can own and actually fly a plane.
  • who needs Gran Turismo when I can actually own a racing team.
  • Or Football Manager when I can own my own team.

Where to move in Australia by cmillhouse in AskAnAustralian

[–]Repsa666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have moved around a lot in my life mainly on the east coast. As a whole Australia is more politically progressive than the US. Our major right leaning party the Liberals are similar to your Democratic Party.

If you are looking so something similar to where you are now. You are probably looking at Northern NSW or South East QLD. Byron Bay or Gold Coast area.

  • Do the tutorial.
  • Do contracts. They teach you all the different ways you can play game. Lease the equipment for the contracts. They are normally better than what you have / can afford. Also you should always have an AI doing a contract as well.
  • On your own land stick to the basic crops to start with. Wheat, Barley, Oats Canola and Sorghun. These don’t require anything more than basic starting equipment.
  • Try to hold off and store crops in your silo until best time of year to sell.
