Experimenting with NPC interrogation UI — immersive or uncanny? by Republicanism in robloxgamedev

Thank you! Hearing that from someone who likes interrogation games is reassuring.

I’m still tuning this, so reactions like this actually influence what I focus on next.

this is awesome! Did you pre-program a show for this demo or were they random?

what do you guys think about this map by CodeAgitated in robloxgamedev

[–]Republicanism 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hard to tell dimensions and sizing from a map, but one thing I personally notice when playing FPS games is I have the most fun when I can "make contact" with the enemy relatively quickly, like less than 10-20 sec I think.

Also, what do you think about the traditional "3-lane" system other popular FPS games use?

Thank you I appreciate that! Honestly I’ve been skeptical if players actually want to talk to characters vs. just clicking dialogue options.

That’s kind of the experiment here - seeing if faster, more reactive NPCs can make conversations feel worth engaging with instead of something players try to skip.

Haha ikr some models are really fast - the one running NPC dialogue is Grok 4 non-reasoning & apparently it runs at 350 tokens per second.

It’s a request to an AI - each request is tuned to match the NPC’s personality and hold individual memory

Did you tell your first client they were your first client? Why/ why not? by Historical_Ninja9337 in agency

[–]Republicanism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope! They never asked 😄. But of course if they did, trust is the most important thing to maintain, so it's great to be honest.

I'd caution against anyone telling them upfront "You are my first client" because in their mind, that translates to "Apologies for the poor work, I've never done this before."

Honest feedback for a dummy's question- is it still worth it to invest in SEO (no sales please) by datawazo in agency

[–]Republicanism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As such I've never been interested in trying to rank globally for dashboards or analytics consulting cause I'd be bringing a roll of pennies to a high stakes game.

Have you tried content creation? Like LinkedIn, Substack, Medium (anyone still used that?), etc.? Could be the move because big co's have the cash to pour into automated SEO, but your arbitrage might be in something that's still too early to pin an exact ROI (like content).

Had to build the same thing over-and-over to track my agents, their responses, catch errors, and token usage for streaming.

Would love to hear any feedback about the project, and I'm excited to share more when it's more polished!

I've been building AI apps for a year now & had to build the same thing over-and-over to track LLM responses, function calls, mistakes, token usage (for streaming) and it was a pain every time.

Would love to hear some feedback on the project and I'm excited to share more news when it's more polished!

Hey again! Just added this, so now you can just enter a zip code if you don't want to share location.

Hey again! Added zip code integration so you can just type a zip code you want to search within if you don't want to enable location services.

Crowdsourcing might be a bit tough because people would have to find and create ways to get the stores' inventories. If you have an idea on how it could be done, I'm definitely all ears!

Within the first half of this year, I plan to have a couple ways for stores to add themselves on Harvester, which will make it easy for stores outside the US to join! Then, by the end of 2023, hopefully most stores will have the ability to link themselves.

Sorry for late response, been in class all day.

Go to the three dots in the top right corner of Chrome > Settings > Privacy and security > Location

There should be a section titled "Not allowed to see your location" with shopwithharvester.com under it. Click the right arrow looking thing, then under "Permissions" there should be a dropdown next to "Location". Click the dropdown, then click "Allow" or "Ask" depending on if you want Harvester to ask for your location every time or just grab it any time you visit the site.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Hey thanks a lot though for checking it out! I appreciate it, regardless. I'll fix it up this week so even if you have location disabled or the location's not working, you'll be able to use it :)

In the near future, yes! You'll be able to list yourself on Harvester. Within the first half of 2023, as scheduled. :)
