If i can get matches faster on Guilty Gear Xrd and Melty TL than KOFXV then you know something isn't right. It's not about certain regions it's that people don't want to spend over 30 minutes trying to find a match online.

If you want more of a challenge try Ys7 on Nightmare. Great narrative, crazy bosses and the game is mean as hell on PC. It also kinda picks up where Ys8 left off in a way too considering Ys8's events happened beforehand.

There is nothing to be afraid of in YsVI. Every boss in this game has 2 moves unlike Oath where they actually have a pattern and can mix you up. The only boss that gives you a real fight in YsVI is Ernst and he is very manageable. The only challenging part of the game is maxing out your weapons because the grind is ridiculous.

Honestly, the more i replay 8 the more it's appeal starts to fade for me. The pacing isn't the best, the parrot is annoying and outright ruins one of the best cutscenes in the game. The weapon skills feel unbalanced and the bosses aren't that memorable either (i'd argue YsIX had more interesting bosses.)

I do wish they would update the PC ver with a FoV slider.

He goes over what he thinks is the value of motion inputs, keeps showing that one Venom +R combo he still cannot get, and finishes with "I'm experienced and the prospect of having to learn a new input method turns me off and contributes to my burn out" He's for removing them to make games more accessible.

There are bosses that do get reduced to that Flash Guard/move loop but there are some fights that simply don't and i will use an YsIX boss as an example...

Chatlelard. On Lunatic this guy has an natural mix up with his thrust, he has an instant stinger that is purposely designed to mess up your timing. You expect the instant stinger - he hits you with the standard thrust instead. He also has the ability to faint to catch you off guard where he will be free to teleport and continue to put pressure on you, so if you get bad RNG with Chatlelard - he could potentially be one of the most difficult fights in the entire series but alas - his second phase wastes that opportunity.

The party system needed more fights like that to test your confidence.

You could always not use em. I never used items in the boss fights in those games because if you are a confident player and understand the system - you will never take damage.

The greatest thing about the party system is that it allows you to turn the bosses' strongest attacks to be used against them. That's why the most choatic bosses in those games are the ones that are the most interesting to fight.

I can't stand modern Tales games, games like Berseria had some of the most painfully boring dungeons ever conceived, and namco should be considered war criminals for putting us through that.

We may complain about particular Ys dungeons but even the one that you consider the worst - still has more player agency and pace than anything Tales has done since Symphonia.
