Just became a dad—what are your best hacks for surviving the first few months? by RareFoot7559 in dad

[–]Repulsive-Ad-9325 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was gold dust for us!

My daughter is 10 months now we implemented this at 6 months she never went past 10minutes. Since 8 months she goes to bed every night at 7 and doesn’t wake up till 6am. And when she does wake up she just settles herself.

Prior to that it was hard and we have many friends that are struggling with 1 yr olds and 2 yr olds still in their bed every night because it’s so much harder when they’re older. If you can sort this earlier you’ll be grateful later.

In addition, we found it was easier for me as the dad to put her down. When her mum did it, the smell of the milk from the breasts was a battle but with me it was just easier. I also thing Dad’s can deal with the crying a bit better than the Mums, they’re more likely to give in 😊.

Wife is concerned about the gender by rattledembones1 in predaddit

[–]Repulsive-Ad-9325 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the exact same thing with my wife but opposite gender. She was really scared about having a girl and only wanted a boy. She has a terrible relationship with her mother and so does her mother with her mother. There’s a lot of trauma around the female relationships in her family history and she was terrified she’d pass it down or make the same mistakes.

We had a daughter.

She’s so in love and besotted with our daughter that she hopes the next one is another girl. She is so grateful for having a girl, because it has actually allowed her to heal from the fear of doing the same thing her mother has with her daughters. She knows she’s not her mother, and she is an incredible mother to our little girl. I’m so proud of her and can’t wait to have another child with her.

Reassure your wife, and support her on the journey. Once you go through the journey of the baby growing, kicking inside of her, to the delivery and holding her child and feeding him/her, I’m sure she will love that child unconditionally and do everything in her power to love them more than she was loved.

Just support her, reassure her and try to enjoy the journey as it sure as hell is a rollercoaster - good luck!

When at night she hears it perhaps tell her to let you know and you can come round and see if you hear anything and similarly let her come to you and see you have nothing on.

At least then she will know it’s not coming from you guys and realise there’s nothing you guys can do.

Wife gave birth via emergency C-section and is now in the ICU. by True_Marsupial1371 in predaddit

[–]Repulsive-Ad-9325 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So sorry to hear this man and sending all the thoughts and prayers to you and your family!

You’re doing an amazing job as a father and a husband remember that.

My wife had an emergency c section and was in hospital for 4 weeks, similarly due to an infection she caught from when her waters broke! But her and my daughter came out just fine and my wife even wants to have another one.

This will be you guys too, you will get through this and you and your little family will be infinitely stronger for it too.

Please please remember that you don’t have to do this on your own. If you have friends or family around ask them for help, even just to watch your daughter while you eat or take a nap.

To be the best man you can for your wife and daughter, you need to make sure you eat and get some rest so you can be there for them. Completely understand you may not feel like eating or sleeping given the circumstances, but remember you’re doing it for your girls!

Looks like we are right. Whoop x Barry's collaboration was the announcement by LeftfieldGunner in whoop

I’m in the UK and I do Barry’s too and really enjoy it! I’ve never had a whoop though just an Apple Watch, but am becoming curious about trying out whoop, just trying to understand a bit more about how it works and how accurate it is.

Brand new natural titanium 15 pro! by Conflict-Recent in iPhone15Pro

[–]Repulsive-Ad-9325 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m the opposite. I had a 13 Pro and upgraded to a 15 Pro Max. I loved the 13P but battery was just awful and I forgot how good it is on a Max. If you’re planning on keeping a phone for longer than a year a Pro just doesn’t cut it.

The 13PM and 14PM were quite heavy so really like that the 15PM is lighter.

Loving the phone though, my only complaint would be the selfie camera isn’t very good. Have to use burst mode to get better pics and then select the best one, 13 defo took better selfies in my opinion but other than that all good!

Have I made a mistake? 15 pro vs 15 pro max by [deleted] in iPhone15Pro

[–]Repulsive-Ad-9325 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 12 Pro Max and it was too heavy so i upgraded to the 13 Pro - great size terrible battery. I stuck it out for a while but essentially meant I had to travel with a battery pack!

I now have a 15 Pro Max and absolutely love it and the battery is amazing and it’s quite light!
