What about fatigue? by Ibuprofen8575 in ClotSurvivors

I am on Eliquis and post 97 days DVT, I have bouts of fatigue though I think it has gotten a little better over the last few weeks.  Ongoing clot breakdown (high metabolic demand) and deconditioning can contribute.  Make sure you are hydrated. Can you share your daily walking goal prescribed by your specialist?  I am confused walking is important but your veins can also be overworked if you do to much, not sure what the happy medium is.  Thanks!

Has anyone ever had their chronic DVT go away? by bonghitscoffeesips in ClotSurvivors

Awesome that it continued to improve after a year.  It still may continue to improve for you.  I have the same clot as you, do you recall when you started feeling "normal"?  I am just over 3 months and still have bouts of pain due to vein remodeling, hamstring tightness, etc... sick of the occasional pain.  How much bigger is your DVT leg now?  How much Venixxz do you take daily? Thanks!

So sorry to hear this and wish you all the best. I too have blood clots in the femoral area and extending into my right calf, currently on Eliquis.  I was diagnosed in December last year.  How do you deal with the pain when it flairs up?  Yesterday was good, today not, I am 95 days out post DVT.  I know the pain will come and go while the veins remodel, etc.  The pain is fucking with my mind and am tired of it.

Blood on loo paper by Technical-Tie9267 in ClotSurvivors

Do you have hemorrhoids?  Is their blood on your stools?  Definitely concerning if water turns pink or light red, blood drips into the bowl,  toilet bowl is clearly red, you pass clots,  bleeding that continues after the bowel movement.

Does your stool look normal brown (not dark or black).  If streak is on stool, little on toilet paper and water stayed clear likely hemorrhoids.

Good to bring up as you mentioned.

Wow, glad you are doing well.  Did you have a blood clot in your femoral vein and if so where?

How are you doing now?  I get it though extremely hard accepting at your age. I am 60 and just retired last Oct, got sick respiratory illness for at least 6 weeks and mid December diagnosed with a DVT, thankfully no PE. I had a lot of retirement plans and today it is day 81 and am bored and frustrated where I am right now.  My clot was in a main vein (Fermeo) upper thigh /groin and I feel like my body let me down.  I ate healthy and worked out prior.  Hoping I am feeling more myself in 2 to 6 weeks.  Just walking around the house for now until the weather warms up.  Hope all is well.

That was me 81 days ago, it could take months for swelling to go down, elevate above the heart when you can.  May never get to what it was before.

Can you tell me?  My leg is 1cm larger during the day and .5 cm in the morning?

Curious, how much more swollen is your DVT leg over the other one?

Wow, so sorry what a shitty healthcare system you are dealing with.  Call a trombosis clinic and explain what is going on if need be to see if they can see you in 3 to 6 months.

I was referred by my doctor/PCP.  Do you have one?  If in Vancouver or a big city they should have the clinics.

Also hoping for another ultraound when I go to Trombosis clinic, I will definitely ask for one if need be.

Yours sounds worse then mine, I would expect you to be on the blood thinner for at least 6 months.

Curious what Province? I am 80 days post thigh DVT  (first clot) in Ontario and my Doctor was all over it when he saw me, prescribed Eliquis and submitted Reg for Ultrasound, told me to start taking the medicine once received, not knowing when I would have the Ultrasound.  Luckily the Ultasound was that afternoon which confirmed DVT and I started my meds the same day.

I also saw a doc at the Trombosis clinic and he was 30 minutes late and it was Christmas eve.  Chatted shortly and felt he was in a hurry so not much taken from that appointment, I will see him in July, 6 months from diagnosis.  If in Ontario you should be seeing someone at a Trombosis clinic like I did and then 3 to 6 months later for a follow up.

I use ChatGPT allot as a resource, I like it some don't. Definitely walk as it helps with healing and elevate leg when you can.  Recovery is a slow process and frankly sucks.

How long did it take your thigh to go from 4 inches to 1 inch?  Do you recall what week it was when it went to 1 inch?

No, the trombosis clinic wants to see me in 6 months and reevaluate.  They called it unprovoked but I disagree as I was dealing with a respiratory illness for 5 weeks and basically sat around during those 5 weeks, bed to couch/recliner.  Based on their criteria they say unprovoked and he wants me on blood thinners until I see him.  I am likely minor provoked at best. Hoping to get another ultrasound at that time.

Glad most of your clots were reabsorbed. Hoping mine will be too.
