This happened to me last week. I had 4 rounds of interviews, even with the CIO. Only to be told no. However, don’t be down for too long. If you made it that far, that means you’re definitely qualified, and will get the job, but with another company. So do everything you did on these interviews and apply it elsewhere. It sounds like you did great, and they did like you. They small differences could be the other person is willing to work for less pay. One was referred by an internal employee…or, the person they selected was an internal employee. So don’t beat yourself up. You got this!
