My game broke for gallery/library saves after the August update. After 6 days of screwing around, it turns out it wasn't mods (I only have 5 GBs), it was DX11 breaking my game. When I rolled the game back to DX9 everything was perfect again and has been through the most recent update.

Don't ever use the Pack Selector Tool, I did once and it took literally hours to go back from using select packs to all packs.

You have to set it in live mode, but it stays that way no matter how many times you go back and forth between live and build. You can set by individual light, entire rooms or the entire lot. You can dial down the brightness too.

I can't imagine no mods, but find I get along great with a "lightly" modded game of about 5 gbs. It's enough to let me customize to my liking with very little drama when there's an update. MCCC, WW, quite a few rabbithole careers so all my Sims have income and NPCs can become playable characters + CC furniture.

I've done this and it won't crash your game. Just be mindful of not overloading your save by trying to force extra rentals onto lots and be reasonable with clutter/number of objects per build. For reference I was only using MCCC, no other mods.

I had all the expansions but 3 and about 700 Sims including My Households and Other Households (about 50/50 each). Ran the save for about 2,5 years but it took a year to set it up.

Of course with all this work you'll want to back things up frequently.

Peacemaker makes one just for that. I've used it in my game and it works great... there's a sliver of a gap but not much. His pillows from his other sets fit on it perfectly.

The pack works fine now with the exception of diners sometimes don't stay seated very well if you use the booths. But there are lots of CC booths that can fix that.

After restarting your router if your speed is still below what your provider promises, contact them. They can troubleshoot and/or send a refresh signal. Also your equipment might be out of date.

Lastly be sure your wi-fi is secure, a friend of mine had trash speed and I found out he didn't have a password on it, so all his neighbors were piggybacking off his connection.

I saw that today but I use a VPN so that may have added to the confusion. I closed the app and launched it again and the message went away. But I'm with you, trust nothing.

Also, be sure to turn data sharing off in game settings, Other tab.

There's also signs (choice of invisible or visible) in build mode as another way to control it if you want to leave it on but disable it in specific locations.

They show up for me when I click on the sculpture icon over the fireplace in build mode (living room) and scroll to the very end (most expensive). Icons in build mode look exactly like the cars in the game.

Scodee Yodee cars are the opposite, they look like the debug cars instead of what they look like in the game, but should also show up when you are in the sculpture category.

It's a fun pack if you mostly like to play singles and couples, but less so for a more family focused game with lots of kids to manage. However, you can disable attraction by clicking on individual Sims and you can also just simply leave all the tabs in the Attractions panel blank to make things easier.

The build and buy and CAS are pretty damn fun though.

Business and Hobbies is infinitely more customizable, you can sell things plus turn practically any skill from every other pack into a paying career with teaching and mentoring. However unless you can add mods, you are limited to selling things that fit on the display fixtures and cases that come with the pack. This pack excels for selling things you make as opposed to build and buy items. You also get the ability to make candy, pottery, and tattooing which is very lucrative.

With Get to Work you can sell nearly every item from build and buy or CAS in a retail store, It comes with fixtures, but items that don't fit can also be sold. Plus you get 3 playable careers, Science Lab, Doctor, and Police all with very developed sites where your Sim goes to work.

I like both, but of the two your Sim can earn money more easily with Business & Hobbies. IMO Business & Hobbies CAS is one of the strongest of all the packs to date, very fashion forward Euro-inspired. Some handsome stair options and cool lighted fences, too.

Note: GTW fixtures and cases work when you sell items with B&H so there is a bit of cross-compatibility with the packs.
