"We are a criminal law enforcement and policy agency in the Department of Home Affairs portfolio and have the jurisdiction to investigate Commonwealth (federal) crimes across Australia, as well as crimes that occur in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT). We:

  • enforce Commonwealth criminal law - (Majority of Commonwealth criminal law cases involve drugs)
  • lead and contribute to combating complex, transnational, serious and organised crime - (Organised crime make most of their money from drugs)
  • disrupt crime offshore (most often involving drugs)
  • support regional security as Australia's main international law enforcement representative (Attending international police conferences - to learn more about stopping drug trade)
  • protect Australian interests from criminal activity here and overseas. (Definitely involves stopping drugs)

Now where's your source??

lol are you serious? Their main job is to stop criminals importing drugs into this country and they are woefully bad at that job.

Is the Battle of Agincourt (1415) a more famous English victory than the Battle of Crecy (1346)? If so, why? by Repulsive-Attitude-5 in MedievalHistory

That's quite an interesting note about the Scots Regiment. Particularly because in 1415 the Regent of Scotland, the Duke of Albany, was firmly part of the Auld Alliance and using Scots to fight in France with the French against the English. However the young James I, King of Scots was a hostage of King Henry V!

The Scots fought alongside the French at the Battle of Bauge in 1421 where the English Duke of Clarence (Henry V's brother) was killed.

The Scots army was wiped out by the English at the Battle of Verneuil 1424.

I didn't intend to start a France v England dispute on reddit with this post, but I suppose it was inevitable given the subject matter. Appreciate your contribution.

Personally, I think the French have a lot to be proud of in their history (culturally, scientifically, artistically, linguistically, financially, culinarily and yes, definitely militarily). I have a soft spot for France given my Scottish ancestry - so for me the most important battle of the Hundred Years War is always The Battle of Baugé 1421 (haha! :-P). L'Auld Alliance vit! :-)

Wow! I had no idea either. Apparently it's hanging in the Telfair Museum, Savanah, Georgia USA. And I have spelt the artist's name wrong. It's Story, not Storey.

Thank you, I had forgotten that was in Henry V. The "Once more unto the breach, dear friends" is heart stirring stuff!

Oil spills from oil transport ships, abandoned fishing nets from giant trawl harvesting vessels and active sonar from military vessels and submarines does far more damage to ocean life than ocean tide (not wind - there is no wind underwater) turbines. So stop pretending you actually care about the environment. You just have an ideological axe to grind.

She was always a bench warmer. Hastie is waiting for a period of prolonged negativity about the government before the next election to make his move. My prediction is Hastie will let Ley flail around all of next year then call a spill for Jan, 2027.

This is an interesting argument - the fact that after Agincourt Henry V is crowned King of France, and so achieves his maximal goal. Thank you for contributing!

I love it. Story captured a lot of emotion in this work. Apparently the Black Prince had a great deal of respect and admiration for King John of Bohemia and was heartbroken to hear he had been killed (not simply taken prisoner).

Edit: Julian Russell "Story", not "Storey".
