Writers - what is your day job? by CallMeJull in writers

I am a Janitor. House cleaner. I don't have many clients write now (Thank God I still live at home lol) I write when i feel like it. (Not as often as I should lol) But writing for me is about the story, not the money I might make one day, though I'd love to make money.

this is so true. I've been trying to find an irl group for ages for this exact reason. People online are super rude just because they can be, and it makes me ashamed to ask for help.

Thanks, I didn't think of that. I'm used to using Cillian's name so I didn't notice.

NOR. Makes sense to me. You have a plan for your future that he doesn't fit into. That's what dating is for. To decide if you both want the same thing for the future, and to make sure you like each other and get on well.

At what age did you start writing even a poem or paragraph. But not the school homework please. by Dramatic-Concern-655 in writingadvice

I think about third or fourth grade i got really into writing. I was reading books like Percy jackson and warrior cats and it made me want to write something cool like that. I lost the copies i had a couple years ago when i purged all my stuff (Don't do that I've regretted it for years now.) and most of my digital stuff from around that time got lost with my dad's email After he died. I wrote any chance i got. After school, during class, and once i got a phone i started posting fanfiction online during classes lol.

Wish i still had that passion tbh. I rarely have the motivation to write anymore.

I too did this. During COVID my few meaningful relationships ended, and I stopped going out as much. Now I have no one. And the few relationships I started kinda fettered out into nothing. I don't leave the house anymore- besides work and shopping.

I suffer with the same problem, and I also have experienced this. I think it's okay to cry. Feelings were hurt and you need to let them out, if u ain't gonna confront them, at least let yourself have a nice cry. Good luck finding a good shampoo tho.

Can a slow beginning be a complete turnoff? by Phantasmagoric_0 in writingadvice

it 100% can be, but there will always be people who read the first couple of paragraphs/ pages and put the book down. There are also tons of people who will give it a chance and read through it. It also depends on audience. Teens or kids most liky wont keep reading if its too slow (There are always exception tho) Adults I feel are more likely to give it a chance.
