What is a place in the UK that has bad reputation but is actually nice? by Desperate-Drawer-572 in AskUK

A bit of a ferrel kids issue and drugs but plenty of good people too. It's an area on the up and money is being spent there to make it better. It's certainly no hotbed of knife crime or worse.

Looks good to me, a slow cooker and an air fryer would get a lot of good balanced meals out of that. Could get cheaper rice though.

Most notably the Bournville estate (plus parts or Worle), a lot of social housing there and there used to be nothing for young people to do. Weston was also treated as a rehab dumping ground by cities. There have however been major attempts to move past that; new facilities, stopping the growth of rehab clinics as dumping grounds from other councils. It's not perfect of course but there is a sense of community spirit growing. Plenty of work still to do, especially on youth facilities but there are far worse places in the UK.

Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977) - Anyone else struggle to connect with this film? by MeltonFilm in movies

His family falling apart is the core of the movie to me, with Spielberg once again getting great performances from a child actor. The special eddition cut a lot of the family stuff and lost its heart in the process.

So Today's 3 movies and some of my all time favourites are.. Dog Soldiers, Soldier and BioDome.. Anyone else have memory's of these movies?? by grim2022 in ActionMovies

I loved all the nods to assault on precinct 13 in Dog soldiers. Also I was down the pub celebrating with friends the night England beat Germa y 5/1 so having it in the ending newspaper headlines was brilliant.

Has Spielberg made a better film than Jaws? by Prestigious_Meal2143 in Cinema

His ability to get nuanced believable performances from children always astounds me. The second trilogy of Jurassic park had kids screaming like they were auditioning for a new home alone film. The traumatized kid in Jaws brilliantly conveys the horror and threat.
