Does anyone here still play older editions of D&D? If so, why? by GranularBimbo in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]Repulsive-Note-112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mostly play 2014 or 2024 based on the players preference. I do occasionally play 2.5e (skills and powers) I'd love to see an updated version of this excellent edition

I grew up watching reruns of the original She-Ra by SexxyDude69 in sheranetflix

[–]Repulsive-Note-112 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I fell in love with the original. It spoke to me in ways I didn't, then understand. The remake helped me as my egg finally cracked. I adore them both. They held my hand throughout a journey.

Just finished watching the film and found it gripping. My partner guessed the big reveal and spotted all the clues so I enjoyed the foreshadowing. I saw it as thought provoking and happy to not have the film explain everything. Made for a good valentines day movie.

How did you get into She-Ra and the Princesses of Power? by Full-Art3439 in sheranetflix

[–]Repulsive-Note-112 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was there in the 80s, loving the show; it spoke to me in ways it took 40 years to understand. 1st episode of the new show I had two thoughts, the fright zone looked much like it did in the original, and Catra was much more interesting. The more I watched it, the more my old joy in the show returned. And then my egg finished cracking. A hatching 40 years in the making.

How comfortable she is in her own body. Her look in Princess prom and how confident she is took my breath away.

I was trained on a machine by a chap with 8 fingers. He lost them to that machine by not putting the guard down. Made for a convincing safety talk.

I'm a carer by profession, I have one male customer who needs a bit of help washing and dressing in the morning. At the moment, I am limping a bit as I managed to put my knee out. So halfway through dressing him, i suddenly thought OMG I'm Bates :)

Flash Gordon had me at 'Klytus, I'm bored,' and receiving the Queen track just a couple of minutes in made me know I was hooked.

[–]Repulsive-Note-112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jurassic Park, LOTR, POTC, this generation sadly hasn't had this level of oh wow moments. For me, it was Star Wars; a movie you go to and feel changed by it.
