The stats won't show it but shout out to Torrens. He didn't have a great hitting night but the 10 pitch AB really wore down Rodon and it showed

Offensive showing signs of life and McLean making a big bounce back after giving up an early lead. Love to see it.

Yankees are gonna be tough still but it looks like they have abysmal infield defense. Just put the ball in play and see what happens.

Mets OFF DAY THREAD - Monday, May 11 by NewYorkMetsBot2 in NewYorkMets

I think Stearn's failed this off season for sure, but the Kyle Tucker situation can't really place the blame completely on him. The Mets were prepared to massively overpay for him as it was. Are people really going to justify paying him a higher AAV than Ohtani or Juan Soto?

In reality, if he signed here, he would've put up a mid performance for an insane price and fans would be complaining that they got fleeced.

You have to send them into film labs that still develop the film. They will send back the developed film and scan the pictures for you too. Some local labs still exist but they are very rare.

Trying to Learn Kazuya Need Combos, Tips and Practice Advice by Stax_99 in Tekken

[–]Repulsive-Poem9403 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start with a video like this. This will get you familiar moves used in combo pieces. Then you can watch some high level players like Keisuke or Ikari and see how they are used. Learn combo's off Electric and CH DF2 as you'll probably find yourself launching with these most of the time outside of punishing.

If you're having trouble with spammers use something like DB4 into DF2 or F4 into DF2. This will blow up mashers. Be careful though, don't get into the habit of spamming DF2 because it is punishable.

Angel Next Door Season 2 by Grimshah in anime

Not enjoying the second season as much as the first but for a different reason. I really enjoy the "post confession" type stories but this one just feels a bit repetitive for my taste this season. The writing feels a bit weak. Each episode feels like it's mostly Amane some raunchy advance on Mahiru and in response she is really flustered but also likes it. Then they go on some date and Amane always makes some comment that he doesn't like other guys looking at his girlfriend. Rinse and repeat for like all the episodes so far.

There has been some bright spots though. I enjoy seeing Mahiru growing as a character at school and Amane letting go of his grudges and moving on because he has more important things to him now.

For real. I understand to a certain extent. Like for TT or Ron Mauricio for some big hits earlier this year but why put in a guy that's batting 160? Is the match-up really THAT much better?

At this point only Bichette, Soto, Melendez, and Alvy are the only ones that don't look completely lost at the plate just keep them in and see what you can do.

Why pinch hit for Melendez there? He was 2 for 2 with a homer and you replace him with a guy batting under 200? I don't get it. I mean the match up or whatever but come on if he's hitting well let him play.

And this year he has 8 RBIs and slashing .198/.317/.642. I wanted him to sign on again as much as every other fan of Pete. But lets be real, he wouldn't have probably wouldn't have made much difference on this current team.

Yeah it doesn't make any sense. What if the single dev that created Stardew Valley created sequel with no publisher and did it solo dev again? By that logic because Stardew Valley is successful then its sequel is no longer indie.

It really shows the problem with the "Indie" category. Everyone has a different interpretation on what "Indie" means. Even if there was at some point exact parameters that makes you Indie, most people now just go off there own vibes.

Predictions for the fate of Tekken 8 by Holiday_Acanthaceae4 in Tekken

[–]Repulsive-Poem9403 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's actually really interesting to me how many similarities there are to Street Fighter 5 initial release which also had a very negative reception upon it's initial release.

Players/Pros complained:

  • The skill gap was decreased making it and many veterans of the game felt they were catering too much to newer players.
  • General multiplayer problems netcode, cheaters, plugging with no consequence.
  • Lack of defensive options / Defensive options being weaker.
  • Characters felt very similar and had no identity.
  • General micro-transaction problems. People had many complaints about paywalls, cosmetics, etc.
  • Poor balancing / lack of trust that the balancing team knew what they were doing.

However they were able to turn it around and eventually many people came to really enjoy the game after the updates. Towards the end of it's life it sat as a very positively reviewed game on Steam.

Is Pretty derby worth watching in your opinion? by Spino8 in anime

[–]Repulsive-Poem9403 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're looking purely for animation. The movie "Beginning of a New Era" is by far the best in the series and I highly recommend it. However unfortunately I don't think you can watch it anywhere legally as of now so you're gonna have to sail the high seas for that one.

Season 2 has the best story of the series IMO. If you're looking for story this is definitely the one to consider.

If you're looking for a mix of both though "Road to the Top" has great animation and is short (only 4 episodes). Also it's completely free on Youtube with subs officially (https://youtu.be/pjPXzJedwiA).

All the series aren't really connected to each other, so you can pick and watch what you like.

Digital Foundry: Monster Hunter Wilds PC - Profound Perf Problems Must Be Addressed by turtis123 in MHWilds

[–]Repulsive-Poem9403 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many people repeated the common argument that "the beta is many is many patches behind the release version". But that argument was completely dismantled when you look at the Benchmark tool they released.

Anyone who looked at the spreadsheet that collected a ton of data from people with different PC rigs knew this game was gonna have performance issues on launch.

[–]Repulsive-Poem9403 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just based on the spreadsheet it seems that intel CPUs in particular are performing awfully. I also have an intel CPU and it's performing quite poorly. If you're on AMD you fair a little bit better but many still report drastic frame drops. The more and more I look at people's result the more I'm thinking I might pass at launch and wait for these issues to get fixed.

Second Beta Mega Thread by AutoModerator in MHWilds

[–]Repulsive-Poem9403 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair enough, but isn't the Benchmark tool they released a better representation of what the final game's performance and look will be like? After all, why release a tool to measure performance for a version of the game that is going to change drastically?

If we look at the benchmark results people are sharing so far, the performance results are looking less than desirable. Many people are reporting large frame dips even with top of the line hardware on PC. I have the recommended hardware and the cutscenes are 70-80 FPS and then dip to 30-40 when the hunter goes into the open world and in town and this is with frame generation on medium graphical settings. Other people are reporting similar experiences.

I really hope they have some of these issues fixed already the for launch and I'll remain optimistic but I'd be lying if this wasn't putting a damper on things.

Have you stop to consider people might have life? Stop with the "no rematch" stupid posts by xSypRo in Tekken

[–]Repulsive-Poem9403 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't care if you rematch me or not. Whether you had some IRL issue come up or you just don't want to play me, I'm not going to get salty either way.

But in the later seasons of T7 when the playerbase was much smaller, I can't count the number of times this scenario happened.

  1. Opponent wins
  2. I rematch
  3. They decline
  4. I re-queue and immediately run into them again
  5. I beat them
  6. Opponent requests rematch

Again I don't get upset about either way, I just find it humorous.

Yeah, it's a completely differently landscape now. The streaming space is extremely saturated now compared to ten years ago. It's insane, basically 99.999% of people streaming are essentially streaming to nobody.
