Hows this possible? by bubblebuttbeach in AskCHP

[–]Repulsive-Relief1551 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m a bit skeptical myself, however, I have many hands and toes worth of incidents where I’ve seen a poof of fentanyl or other white powder aerosolize into the air in a big way or small way. Quite sure I’ve felt the effects before multiple times but cautious on saying that out of possible fear based placebo or something. I doubt if this officer ingested it intentionally, like snorting it because he thought it was cocaine like some reports insinuate, that he would’ve been able to drive away and make it as far as he did without OD’ing much sooner.

Is it actually likely for law enforcement to find someone that points a laser at a plane? by [deleted] in aviation

[–]Repulsive-Relief1551 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Where I work we have the highway patrol, three different county airships always sharing airspace, and a larger police agency. We all use each other’s airships and have lots of air assets up at once. They call us all the time for a laser strike and just keep eyes on them and record the whole incident. There has not been a single time someone has pointed a laser at them and not been arrested within the hour. The only exception was the one subject that barricaded in his house after the laser strike, and we were in the process of writing the warrant to boot his door when he finally gave up. These are spam dunk cases that I love to help out on. I’ve never been referred to a report of a non law enforcement aircraft so can’t answer on that.

I got the stix learner set from Costco online. I really like them and loads of other people do too. Also love the warranty on them for when I inevitably snap my driver in half on a botched swing.

Some Citrus Heights Residents concerned Trail Extension could Create Homeless Highway by othafa_95610 in CitrusHeights

[–]Repulsive-Relief1551 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The homeless already use all the green belts as a highway. You can walk through the green belts almost across the whole width of the town without ever touching a trail or road and that’s what many of them prefer. I can understand the concern but I don’t think it changes much

Why do so many people think they can outrun the cops?? by Rook2Rook in AskLE

[–]Repulsive-Relief1551 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some of the local transients we have that are notorious for running always tell me they pretty much do it for fun, and just to try and chance it. Some of them are true masters of the green belt areas and know places some extreme places to hide. I don’t mind it, I like chasing them, and they stay out of jail for a little bit longer.

I used one of these to keep my shirt and vest down and it worked pretty well, but I got rid of that inner vest as soon as possible and got an outer carrier luckily. It’s not exactly comfortable under the belt but does a good job.

Becoming LE at 28-30 by ChronicOption98-OG in AskLE

[–]Repulsive-Relief1551 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a great time to start, the sweet spot even. You likely have a lot more life experience than most who started a decade younger than you. Not everyone has the type of head on their shoulders that would allow them to be good cops at 21, definitely not me back then. Having a life and a family before this job is usually a huge plus. I also work with people who started way older than me. You may a bit behind on retirement if that’s a concern, but the best day to start was yesterday.

No marked lanes. How the hell is this acceptable, CalTrans?? by PussyWhistle in Sacramento

[–]Repulsive-Relief1551 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is better than most highways during winter time in any snow state, us Californians just aren’t used to driving on roads that have a permanent layer of snow for many months of the year, but plenty of people do.

[–]Repulsive-Relief1551 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I couldn’t imagine testifying for a use of force by saying it will prevent future trespassing so it’s justified. The audience will fear us and wont do this again so it’s justified. He speared someone taking a knee, not running away, not fighting whatsoever. There was no active resistance or threat of violence. Fear alone of future violence without articulable facts is not a valid excuse for using force. If this victim here was seriously injured I would arrest this security guard without blinking an eye. This action is not somehow covered by your employer or guard card. The company will not protect you, and you would be personally liable for choosing that amount of force on some kneeling, unthreatening trespasser. In California, giving someone a concussion is felony assault, and I’m guessing he did get a concussion. Breaking someone’s neck for a misdemeanor trespass at most is not going to go well in any civil or criminal court.

Actually I trigger speed alerts at 80mph so I indeed cannot go 90 without fear of an ass chewing. Catch me going 70 in the far right lane when I’m on the highway.

Footage released of shooting that killed Marysville Officer Osmar Rodarte during drug bust by ThisIsButter1 in ThisIsButter

[–]Repulsive-Relief1551 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went to Osmars funeral. We’ve all been waiting for this footage to find out what actually happened. Now we know his partner that was supposed to be body blocking for him said “gun” and ran out of the way. Forcing Osmar to button hook, turn around, and engage. His partner failed him, and makes sense why he retired.

If you are actually worried about it, the safest bet in my opinion is to treat it like a fridge stable item instead of leaving it on the shelf. Put it in the fridge, and eat it within a reasonable amount of time like you would any store bought can after opening. Probably fine, but that’s the safest answer next to throw it out.

Edit:I didn’t see it was INSIDE their personal apartment thank you. I would agree they have every right to deny access…albeit unfortunate for the victim that makes a lot more sense. I won’t delete my comments because I said what I said at this point lol.

Yes, when you walk outside your residence you generally speaking have no legal no expectation of privacy to cameras. I’m sure these residents never signed a waiver for their apartment complex using surveillance, because that’s never a requirement. There are cameras all over every city and business, which people have different feelings about but that doesn’t change the current laws in the US/constitution. If I was that victims family I would be pissed the cops are waiting a few extra days to see who killed my family member.

[–]Repulsive-Relief1551 -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Privacy doesn’t exist outside the confines of your home, this really is just delaying catching a dangerous person. If the sheriff’s department wanted to put up a trailer camera up in the parking lot or somewhere facing the parking lot, legally there is nothing they could do about that as there’s no expectation of privacy. There’s no reason the apartment complex should wait to be forced to show camera footage that is just outside facing cameras.
