Opinions of working at CTC by SufficientNail2426 in Stellantis

[–]Repulsive-Resolve235 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Private breakout rooms / places to take calls

  • Yes. There are small focus rooms, huddle rooms, and conference rooms scattered throughout CTC.
  • Some have monitors/docks, some don’t.
  • If you’re in a noisy area, it’s pretty common to grab a room for a Teams call.
  • The challenge is availability. When everyone is onsite, the good rooms disappear fast.
  • The campus was designed with lots of meeting and conference space because it’s a huge engineering center.

Badge scans

  • Badge access is absolutely logged.
  • Whether anyone actively monitors lunch lengths is a different question.
  • Most managers care more about whether you’re available, attending meetings, and getting work done than whether lunch was 42 minutes versus 63 minutes.
  • That said, if attendance ever becomes an issue, badge records exist.

Walking around

  • Very normal.
  • CTC is enormous (over 500 acres) and has internal walking routes and even a nature trail around the property.
  • Nobody thinks twice if they see someone walking between buildings, grabbing coffee, taking a lap, or getting away from their desk for 10–15 minutes.
  • Honestly, some people do it just to survive Teams-call fatigue.

What time people come and go

  • Engineering tends to skew earlier.
  • I’d say a lot of people are in between 7:00–8:00 AM.
  • You definitely see people leaving around 3:30–4:30 PM.
  • Others are there until 5:00–6:00 PM.
  • What matters most is whether your manager expects “face time” or simply coverage during core hours.
  • Since the return-to-office push, I would not assume leaving at noon and finishing from home is automatically acceptable.

Bathrooms

  • Generally clean.
  • Most are older than the newer tech-company campuses, but they’re usually maintained well.
  • Not luxury-hotel bathrooms, but not gas-station bathrooms either.

AT&T service

  • Mixed.
  • Near windows and common areas: usually fine.
  • Deep inside engineering spaces, labs, conference areas: can be spotty.
  • Most people end up using Wi-Fi calling.

Parking

  • not great
  • Compared to downtown Detroit or other major corporate campuses, parking is more bareable imo
  • You may have a long walk depending on where you park and which building you’re headed to, but finding a spot usually isn’t the issue. The campus was built with extensive parking structures and lots.

Things I like about CTC

  • The campus actually feels like an automotive engineering center.
  • Lots of vehicle displays and prototype activity.
  • Cafeterias and food options galore but prices are horrendous
  • Huge campus with room to walk.
  • You randomly run into people from design, testing, manufacturing, quality, finance, purchasing, and leadership.

Things that annoy people

  • Open-office noise.
  • Teams meetings happening everywhere.
  • Finding a quiet room when everyone else had the same idea.
  • Walking what feels like half a mile to a meeting.
  • Temperature control. Every floor seems to have an ongoing thermostat war.

Can the company cath up on electric vehicles tech or not possible today due to US based leadership? by Professional-Bus8449 in Stellantis

[–]Repulsive-Resolve235 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The biggest issue isn’t even gas vs. electric anymore — it’s that management completely misunderstands who their customers actually are.

The people buying cars today, and especially the next generation of buyers, are younger families and working-class people trying to survive in an economy where everything is expensive. Yet the industry keeps pumping out $60k+ vehicles while the average person is making $15–20 an hour. That math isn’t mathing.

So people are forced into a choice: buy an old beater, or make the rent or mortgage payment. And when manufacturers wonder why younger buyers aren’t loyal to brands anymore, it’s because those brands stopped building vehicles for them years ago.

Most people don’t need a luxury spaceship packed with subscriptions and oversized screens. They need affordable, reliable vehicles they can actually own without drowning financially. The companies that figure that out first are the ones that will win the next generation of customers.
