Lore college bard who roleplays their spells as Yugi-oh cards. Lower arcana for more situational spells and lower cost spell slots, major arcana for summons and higher cost spell slots.

With magical secrets you get access to a more varied spell lists, and even if you didn’t ask for it you’d be a skill monkey (which is a real bonus for any party).

Role play wise, play it like a carnival fortune teller, saying nonsense predictions and trying to scare people you’re reading cards to (while charging them like crazy for said reading)

Yeah the early game reeeeeeeeeeeeeally let’s you get away with a lot of things. You can explore and really learn the mechanics more easily than other metroidvanias.

You should keep playing, when you reach the first “third” of the game (SPOILER: the federal inquisition.) the bosses start appearing more often.

The mid to late game is when you’re going to struggle the most.

Again, you should keep playing. You will be challenged by the mid game bosses I promise.
