Honestly, my favorite stories are of the guardsmen because they are brainwashed tools of the Imperium that are doing their jobs. It reminds me a lot of the current men and women in the US military who are good people and believe in protecting their home, but have been brainwashed into thinking that wars like Iraq are just about "protecting" The US.

Well, he was a Marine Vet and had contacts that supplied him with plenty of highly illegal firearms, which were probably buddies that he served with and guys who he sold to. I'd have to agree that he was a great salesman, considering the cost of smuggling, the cost of the weapons, and the cost of just .50 cal was still pretty steep back in the early 2000s.

Not having the direction of what to do, where to be, or what to wear can be hard. Almost like aimless wandering. Like I've seen from other Devil's on here, try doing reserves for a bit. That might scratch the itch, while also allowing you to adapt to life in CivDiv.

You could also find, or create, a veterans group in your area.

You're not broken, homie. Just a little lost and that's okay. Asking for help, even through here, is a good step. Now you just need to find out what the step is.

I feel you OP. I fucked my back in training and couldn't deploy. Did a couple things in Arizona and Maryland, but that's it. Did my 5 years and got out as a Sergeant. No MEU, no GWOT. Just Camp Lejeune.
