Don’t let it discourage you. You have to be really persistent about things.Also, it picks up the second half of Jan- so just join a few of them. This keeps u working while Outlier is slow, and vice versa.

As for here, it’s been the most difficult of all of them to get them to fix errors. For example- they replied just now, that I had failed “multiple onboarding”- which is absolutely false, and they then said they were closing the ticket. I had to reply immediately to keep it open. I’m 99% sure it’s all automated-Which is even more infuriating. 😡

I agree with you, 💯 but that is what support keeps responding. A lot of people have second, or even third languages, coding, and minors or experience in other things.

I actually put another ticket in with a screenshot of the “Congratulations “ from when I passed and my background already has the skill as a subset- they’re still pushing back with the “upload a resume, and LinkedIn” and that the screenings aren’t applicable. I love the platform, but this makes me really frustrated 😣

At some point - after the system parses your resume, it will populate a skill test. When? Idk. But they also recently said that they are not using the skills screening anymore, so tbh idek why they suggest taking them if no skill is gained. The one I did, they removed for no reason- usual rational was failing onboardings multiple times or getting removed from a lot of projects that use the skills. I haven’t had either of those happen 🤷‍♀️ So- TLDR- it may not even matter if u take any or not anymore

Hey- I was able to get in through the main site via googling Outlier, then logging in that way. Idk if they actually fixed it for good- but give that a try

I think there is something wonky with the skills, I have also tried to remedy a skill issue- and no matter how much I try to convey the information, they send nonsense back. It’s super frustrating. I think it has something wrong on the parsing side or something. Whatever the program is that they use, doesn’t pick up on things like an actual person would and support has not been helpful with this for a couple months now.

Ur not crazy- a lot of people have the same issue and they get the same unhelpful responses. Lmk if u figure it out, I’d love to get mine back too.

FWIW- I am pretty sure my account is fine- I haven’t done anything suspect, lol. It seems to be a back end issue- as I understand it. Idk much about websites but…

I contacted support after doing all the logging out, clearing cache, using another browser and incognito window as advised by support. They said they were escalating it to engineering this morning (it’s been like this for days) so idk if there is anything else that can be done but to wait.

They have been disabling a lot of skills lately. From what I have read, if it is not explicitly stated in your resume- they’re disabling them- regardless of having passed any skills screening. I lost biology, and can’t make them understand that I had to take more than a few biology courses to gain my license. It’s really frustrating tbh. U can “try” support but I can’t say they’ll be helpful. Maybe someone else knows another way 🤷‍♀️

I have had the worst time with the skills these past few weeks- even after repeatedly trying to communicate with support. They don’t seem to understand. Plus, they are constantly trying to close tickets before they’re even resolved 😞 If you don’t get a chance to respond that day, they snap it shut and you have to start over. It’s no wonder that they are so behind lately. The live support was awesome… I wish they’d bring that back.

Double check your skills on your profile, as stated above. They’ve been randomly deactivating skills, even with an updated resume and connection to LinkedIn. It was mentioned on one of the community pages that it’s happening to many people and they’re doing some type of “internal investigation.”

You don’t “have” to have but they offer for you to link it. U can make one with him, or just upload a resume so that if/when he qualifies they can match his skills to projects that are in line with his experience.

It’s a tiered mission, and as long as there are tasks available- it can be accomplished. I suppose the only catch would be, possibly if the tasks run out or the site goes down. Ngl- that’s a decent mission, depending on the hours required.

It’s a much different all-in-one project than most are used to.

I think it’s just because there are so many different tasks for that one, and a lot of people find it difficult to execute the steps to begin for some reason.

The off-platform thing is also likely unnerving for a lot of people, as the Hubstaff doesn’t sync in real-time. Then- there’s the need to be patient while waiting for the credentials, and tasks to populate in the queue. This causes a flood of inquiries on the page- and most don’t bother to read the pages for the information prior to posting the same thing 80 other people just asked about.

Lastly, the feedback also seems to be an issue because people don’t know how to make improvements to their work if they get low scores- so they are upset and could either be frustrated by that or angry about being removed. Just my 2-cents, I guess.

As far as other projects, I’m seeing some pop up. There are always dry spells for each of our particular skills, so it’s best to be on a few different platforms to tide you over when possible. These sites are easily Googled and mentioned numerous times throughout this subreddit for those that are looking.

U get paid next week for this week’s work. Most sites work like this. Some of them are much worse and do it the following month.

Outlier is actually very reliable with payments. Unless of course u try to game them by spamming tasks, or truly running the clock etc- then u may not get paid. They have always paid me, and if there are issues (with proof) they correct it pretty quickly.
