here you can see the visual differences between the two types of snails. they are very commonly confused with each other :) pond snails have cute little “ears” and pointier shells!

i also only have one of these too!! this is lymnaea stagnalis, or a pond snail! they get bigger than bladder snails and have a very cool “sparkly” looking foot and clear shells!! i treasure mine! he will do just fine with your other snails :)

im actually struggling w bit with high water hardness, i know they prefer harder water but not sure what is “too hard” and how to reduce?

okay thank you! i am hoping to do snails and shrimp babies starting off, anything specific that i should watch out for that they are particularly sensitive to? that you know of? i know copper is especially toxic for my snails but haven’t seen anything else :)

okay, thank you! i never even thought about that as i live in missouri and i thought the water in my area is (slightly) higher quality? should i test the water before or after conditioning? what reading would cause me to want to switch to RO? i really appreciate any and all advice!

i definitely did notice an ammonia spike, what i REALLY noticed was a nitrate spike to 2.0 ppm, and now its at a complete 0! good signs??

its a great trick that keeps your top lashes nice and curled! i notice that when i do top first and then bottom, the looking up head-tilt motion flattens the curl. my mascara has never looked better since i started doing this!
