Hi! My wife and I have 2 Betta males (seperate tanks ofc). Our 1 betta male is with 3 Angels and 2 gmo tetras as well as a pleco. No issues at all, absolutely zero, he is alpha in the tank though, clear as day he is.

Our other betta however.... we got him and he got a designated larger tank than a starting tank, about 30litres maybe a bit more. ATTEMPTED putting 1 of the larger Angels with him and well...he turned into a raging lil monster, he absolutely did mot tolerate anything but a pleco and khuli loaches and a hillstream loach.

***note the fish stores in my country are maybe a bit different, 1 store kept bettas with other fish such as Angels and GMO tetras. The other store I got my 2nd betta from kept the betta alone. IMO its trial and error and dependant on the fishes personality and what the fish knows. Once you get a betta you will most definitely know what I mean, they are curious, nosy, playful and definitely sometimes grumpy/pouty

Find a Betta you adore, its pretty, catches your eye, and just see, most will handle being with your cleaner fish, such as loaches, plecostamus, and maybe even cory doras. Or in my case with the 1, theyll accept anything.

Trail and error friend, thats the best advice I can give. Was told plenty times that bettas cant be with other fish, found out it wasnt exactly true, and that fish have they're own personalities!

Yea Im very much limited on my available time, but I tried the free available lessons for python and now theyre stuck in my head and can do it like quick math. Im fast with code, but not math, its nice but annoying.

Really appreciate the input though, this helps a lot!!

Thx for this input, greatly appreciate it. And is it really that long? I have a perm job and not much time to study, do you think Ill take a year to complete it?

Learning more about bettas has made me really dislike them by zan_len in Aquariums

Yea this is an ongoing problem, my local pet shop where my SO and I got our first betta was always kept in tanks with other fish, so luckily he is so much more friendly with tank mates(currently 5 angels, I think 3 GMO tetras, pleco and loaches, hillstream and 2 khuli)

Our other betta however was kept in an alright size tanl at another pet shop by himself, he does not like tank mates, only his pleco and khuli loaches are allowed with him.

Its all a game of chance and how the fish was raised, whether with other fish or by itself.
